Free 2011 NCAA Basketball Championship Pick

Monday's 2011 NCAA Tournament Championship Game concludes the 2010-11 season of college basketball, which for us really just began and March. We've had a successful run considering a) we hadn't bet on a college basketball game this season until the tournament and b) we bet on every single game in the tournament. Even with those two caveats, we've gone 55% during the tourney, proving yet again that we are pretty much awesome at whatever we do, regardless.

We'll try to continue our awesomeness with our championship pick:

Butler +3 1/2 over Connecticut

Given the lack of attractive girls from Butler posting scandalous pictures on the internet, please accept the above photo of Matt Howard bleeding his face off. Please, ladies of Butler, feel free to send along any such photos (scandalous, not bleeding) to stocklemonblog@gmail.com and we will ensure that you get the appropriate attention from our site.

For posterity's sake, here are our records thus far from the 2011 NCAA Tournament March Madness:

Round 1: 3-0-1
Round 2: 16-16
Round 3: 7-9
Sweet 16: 7-1
Elite Eight: 1-3
Final Four: 2-0
Total: 36-29-1... 55%

Free NCAA Tournament Final Four Picks

It's Final Four time, folks. The culmination of a month-long period in which the nation pretends to still care about the NBA's farm system is this weekend. Here are our Final Four Picks:

Butler -2 1/2 over VCU

UConn +2 over Kentucky

Best of luck and check back Sunday for our Free 2011 NCAA Basketball Championship Pick!

And Then, There Was The Final Four

Just as we had predicted to start the NCAA Basketball season, VCU and Butler will be playing for the National Championship... or not.

Actually, we only correctly picked (against the spread) that Butler would be back. We got beaten by the hook in the UConn game (-2 1/2) and were flat out wrong on the others. So here we are, VCU, Butler, Kentucky and Connecticut. We'll have our picks later this week.

And no, we don't know why the only pictures of hot basketball girls happen to be Asian. Not that we're complaining.

The results:

Round 1: 3-0-1
Round 2: 16-16
Round 3: 7-9
Sweet 16: 7-1
Elite Eight: 1-3
Total: 34-29-1... 54%

Texas A&M Covers, Butler Falls Short

Mixed results from our first games in the NCAA Tournament. Texas A&M took care of a +2 1/2 spread against BYU, beating the Cougars 79-66 for a huge 9/8 upset!

Unfortunately, Butler fell two points short of covering against LSU, preventing us from winning both of our 9/8 seeded games.

And so, we split the early games. Fortunately, we have at least four and possibly five games remaining today, so there's plenty of time to improve on that 1-1 start for our Free NCAA Basketball Picks.

NCAA Tournament Early Game Free Picks

It's here! March Madness, the real NCAA Tournament, finally gets underway today. We'll have a few picks on the early games and probably another handful on the later games, so be prepared.

Here are the earlier game picks:

Butler +2 over LSU

California -1 1/2 over Maryland

Texas A&M +2 1/2 over BYU

Good luck with this batch of Free NCAA Basketball Picks. We'll have more to come momentarily.

Friday's Tournament Picks

On Thursday, we were so jacked for the tourney to start that we posted all of our plays along with a nice little image the bracket that each team was in. After a long day of sitting around and doing nothing but watching NCAA Basketball, we're understandably a little worn down, therefore we will forego the pictures and get straight to the picks. Without further ado, here are the first couple:

South Alabama +4.5 over Butler

Tennessee -19 over American

Cleveland St. is the Pick

We have another Free NCAA Basketball pick today as we continue to prepare for March Madness.

Cleveland State +10 over Butler

Getting double-digit points in a conference championship game is always a plus, and we'll take those points with Cleveland St. tonight. It'll be hard for Butler to beat them three times this season, as it is for any team to beat an opponent on three seperate occasions.

We also like the motivation factor for Cleveland St. If they lose this game, their season is over. If Butler loses, they're the 12th ranked team in the country, so an at-large bid in the tourney is waiting for them just in case. Cleveland St. has much more to play for.

Good luck!
