Free NCAA Football Bowl Picks Continue Domination (89%)

Our Free NCAA Football Picks were just over .500 and very mediocre.

Not so for our Free NCAA Football Bowl Picks.

Like many of the great athletes in the game, our picks have stepped up in the postseason. To the tune of 8-1 (89%). LSU covered in the Cotton Bowl, which, aside from giving us an excuse to post this awesome body paint picture, gives us one of the more impressive bowl records out there.

Sure, we haven't bet every bowl game. But come on. LOOK at some of those horrible bowl games! Our last remaining bet will be in the BCS National Championship game, so check back this weekend to find out who will be crowned the 2010-11 champion* in college football.

*Nope, still no playoff system.

88% Free NCAA Football Bowl Picks Look to Continue Run

Ah we love the college football postseason... even if it really isn't a postseason. For as much whining as we do about the current format that prevents a playoff system, we are not complaining this year. Our Free NCAA Football Bowl Picks are off to a 7-1 start (88%) after Miami (OH) covered with a win over Middle Tennessee State in some arbitrary bowl Thursday.

And we're not done yet.

We are picking cotton for Friday's bowl game, as Texas A&M faces the LSU Tigers.

LSU -2 over Texas A&M

We've always had a great deal of respect for the Cotton Bowl, ever since the GoDaddy.com bowl was played. Seriously. GoDaddy.com bowl. This is a good match-up but ultimately LSU should have the edge (as the spread might indicate).

Plenty more playoff action remains, both in the NCAA and the NFL, so don't geaux anywhere!

Getting Our Free NCAA Football Picks In

We have a full slate of college football in this the final big week of Free NCAA Football Picks action. Let's get out on a high note and carry it into bowl season.

LSU +3 1/2 over Arkansas

Florida State -2 over Florida

South Carolina -2 1/2 over Clemson

N.C. State -2 over Maryland

Tennessee -3 over Kentucky

Oklahoma/Oklahoma State OVER 67

Cincinnati +3 over Connecticut

Full disclosure: We only picked LSU this week so that we could post that picture. Just kidding. Kind of.

2009 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 13-16

Everybody's mocking for the weekend! Or at least, we are, continuing our 2009 NFL Mock Draft. Not only are we working for the weekend, but we're putting in overtime. Instead of giving out the regular three picks, we're giving you our next four selections in this special Saturday edition of our mock draft.

13. Redskins: Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU

The run on defensive ends continues with the Redskins scooping up Jackson, making him the third DE/OLB (depending on the formation) selected in-a-row. Don't tell Jackson he's the third best of the three, though. He's climbing the boards for teams that use a 3-4, but he's been playing in the 4-3 and will be a beast in either system.

14. Saints: Chris Wells, RB, Ohio State

The first reach of the draft comes when the Saints take Beanie as the first running back off the board, though he isn't the best one in the draft. New Orleans really likes him to shore up the backfield, and Wells does fit the Saints offense very... well. Still, the Saints will try to trade down to get him if Beanie really is their guy, otherwise they might be inclined to improve on their terrible defense for once.

15. Texans: Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State

Back-t0-back picks for THE Ohio State University, with Jenkins too talented for the Texans to pass on. He's not the fastest corner, but he's certainly one of the more physical and is always willing to make the tackle. Jenkins could easily be off the board by now, as early on with the ninth pick, but the Texans won't mind if he's still available when they're on the clock.

16. Chargers: Rey Maualuga, LB, USC

We like the Chargers keeping Maualuga in state and bolstering an already solid defense in the process. Plain and simple: Maualuga causes headaches--and not just to the people trying to spell his name. The California native can make an immediate impact for the Bolts, who will be healthy and playing in a suddenly much easier division. We're expecting good things out of the Chargers this year, and this pick is the first of many more to come.

Be sure to check out the first 12 picks on the upper right-hand side of this page. We'll continue to work through the weekend to hammer out the next few picks of our mock draft tomorrow. Keep checking back for the updates and we'll keep 'em coming!

Texas A&M Covers, Butler Falls Short

Mixed results from our first games in the NCAA Tournament. Texas A&M took care of a +2 1/2 spread against BYU, beating the Cougars 79-66 for a huge 9/8 upset!

Unfortunately, Butler fell two points short of covering against LSU, preventing us from winning both of our 9/8 seeded games.

And so, we split the early games. Fortunately, we have at least four and possibly five games remaining today, so there's plenty of time to improve on that 1-1 start for our Free NCAA Basketball Picks.

NCAA Tournament Early Game Free Picks

It's here! March Madness, the real NCAA Tournament, finally gets underway today. We'll have a few picks on the early games and probably another handful on the later games, so be prepared.

Here are the earlier game picks:

Butler +2 over LSU

California -1 1/2 over Maryland

Texas A&M +2 1/2 over BYU

Good luck with this batch of Free NCAA Basketball Picks. We'll have more to come momentarily.

Florida and Texas Lead Us To 2-1 Day

Thanks to the play of a couple of great college quarterbacks, we won a couple of great big games today.

Tim Tebow led Florida past LSU 51-21 to cover a 6 1/2 point spread, while Colt McCoy and Texas beat Oklahoma 45-35 to take care of the +7 spread.

All in all, our Free NCAA Football Picks had a 2-1 night, and we are looking forward to this kind of success throughout the remainder of the college football season.

Three Free NCAA Football Picks Today

We have three Free NCAA Football Picks this week in what should be a good Saturday. Our computer system likes the following:

Texas +7 over Oklahoma

Florida -6 1/2 over LSU

Kentucky +3 over South Carolina

Colt McCoy and Texas should at the very least not let the Sooners beat them by a touchdown, and our system indicates that the spread is too high. Florida and Kentucky should also take care of business in what amounts to be a big game card for us.

Good luck!

Two More Saturday Plays

As promised, here our are two biggest plays for Saturday to go with our first three:

LSU -24 over Mississippi State

Purdue +1 1/2 over Notre Dame

Charles Scott and the Tigers should run all over the Bulldogs, and we like Purdue to top the Irish. Good luck and enjoy the weekend.
