More 2009 NBA Draft Proposition Bets

We've already given you a couple of 2009 NBA Draft prop bets in the lottery, and we've shown you a way to literally make a quick buck, so now it's time to take a look at four more proposition wagers that may be worth your while tonight.

Once again, you can find these props and more over at BetED.

We mentioned that we would have a few more Tyler Hansbrough props, and indeed two of the props we like involve the North Carolina forward. And, wouldn't you know it, they've spelled all the names right. Like our lottery props, we like two Hansbrough props of the "Who will be drafted first" variety.

North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough (-325) vs. Arizona's Chase Budinger (+225)

We feel like the worst case scenario for Hansbrough is early twenties, while that's the best case for Budinger. There has even been some talk of Hansbrough as a lottery pick, but we don't think he'll go that high. We recommend Hansbrough here, even at -325.

North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough (-220) vs. North Carolina's Wayne Ellington (+160)

We posted a variation of this earlier, and again, we think Hansbrough very well could be the first North Carolina player off the board. If not, he will definitely be the second. Ellington might even slip into the second round, but Hansbrough should be gone in the teens.

These next two props are a little different, in that you are betting on where players will go rather than if they will go before someone else.

Will UCLA's Darren Collison be drafted in the first round (+105) or second round (-145)

We really aren't sure why Collison being drafted in the first round has much better odds, as we think he'll definitely be picked in the 20's. Even if he's borderline, there's no way we're passing on +105 for him to be taken in the round that he really should be.

Where will Ohio State's B.J. Mullens be drafted? Picks 15-20 (+100)

We were too lazy to write out all the other choices, which you can find on the graphic above, but our hunch is that he'll go in this range. For even money, we don't mind taking a crack at him going right after the lottery, where several teams are interested. It doesn't matter that we think he'll suck and he is a long way away from the NBA, we think he'll be picked in this range.

The 2009 NBA Draft is finally here, beginning at about 6:00 central time. Be sure to review all of our prop bets beforehand, as well as our mock draft located on the right hand side of this page, to prepare for the big night.

2009 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 27-29

It's the second-to-last day of our 2009 NFL Mock Draft as we apporach the real 2009 NFL Draft, and we have three more picks for you as we put the finishing touches on this thing. To see all the previous 26 picks, check out the upper right hand side of the page for the links.

27. Colts: James Laurinaitis, LB, Ohio State

We're not too high on Laurinaitis, but he's a solid young player who can help fill a need in Indy. There's some talk of Laurinaitis going a little higher than this, but we think he'll land with the Colts and give them a decent value pick at 27. He had a good college career and can play in multiple defensive schemes, but he doesn't really excel at any particular area, which is why he's available at this point.

28. Bills: Eben Britton, T, Arizona

This pick is somewhat of a wild card, but at the end of the day we feel like the Bills will fill the draft pick they received in a trade with the position that they traded to receive the draft pick--if that makes any sense. Britton is the next best available tackle on the board after some pretty good ones have already been taking, but he might just end up as another Bills reach. The Bills addressed the defensive line with the 11th pick, and our guess is that they go with the other line late in the first.

29. Giants: Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina

The Giants need a receiver and Nicks needs a team--perfect fit. Nicks is the sixth wide out off of the board, which in reality might be a little high, but there are some talented pass catchers in this draft. The Giants will love Nicks' hands and his physical play, resembling some guy the G-Men used to have before he shot himself in the leg.

Like we said, we'll have the last three picks of our 2009 NFL Mock Draft tomorrow, completing the first round of this year's crapshoot.

Be sure to check back for the grand finale!

2009 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 13-16

Everybody's mocking for the weekend! Or at least, we are, continuing our 2009 NFL Mock Draft. Not only are we working for the weekend, but we're putting in overtime. Instead of giving out the regular three picks, we're giving you our next four selections in this special Saturday edition of our mock draft.

13. Redskins: Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU

The run on defensive ends continues with the Redskins scooping up Jackson, making him the third DE/OLB (depending on the formation) selected in-a-row. Don't tell Jackson he's the third best of the three, though. He's climbing the boards for teams that use a 3-4, but he's been playing in the 4-3 and will be a beast in either system.

14. Saints: Chris Wells, RB, Ohio State

The first reach of the draft comes when the Saints take Beanie as the first running back off the board, though he isn't the best one in the draft. New Orleans really likes him to shore up the backfield, and Wells does fit the Saints offense very... well. Still, the Saints will try to trade down to get him if Beanie really is their guy, otherwise they might be inclined to improve on their terrible defense for once.

15. Texans: Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State

Back-t0-back picks for THE Ohio State University, with Jenkins too talented for the Texans to pass on. He's not the fastest corner, but he's certainly one of the more physical and is always willing to make the tackle. Jenkins could easily be off the board by now, as early on with the ninth pick, but the Texans won't mind if he's still available when they're on the clock.

16. Chargers: Rey Maualuga, LB, USC

We like the Chargers keeping Maualuga in state and bolstering an already solid defense in the process. Plain and simple: Maualuga causes headaches--and not just to the people trying to spell his name. The California native can make an immediate impact for the Bolts, who will be healthy and playing in a suddenly much easier division. We're expecting good things out of the Chargers this year, and this pick is the first of many more to come.

Be sure to check out the first 12 picks on the upper right-hand side of this page. We'll continue to work through the weekend to hammer out the next few picks of our mock draft tomorrow. Keep checking back for the updates and we'll keep 'em coming!

Fiesta!

We have a Free NCAA Football Pick for you in the Fiesta Bowl, and it's our biggest bowl play of the year.

Texas -9 over Ohio State

Bring on another uninspiring Big Ten bowl performance, as Texas proves that they should be one of about six teams who have valid arguments for being national champs.

Good luck!

At Least Ohio State Covered

Thanks to a 30-20 Ohio State victory over Illinois, we avoided a really bad day and settled for just a bad day.

Our Free NCAA Football Picks went 1-2, with one pick covering by a point and another losing by that amount.

On the bright side, our picks are still 65% in the last six weeks, but obviously this isn't what we were looking for today. Here's our week-by-week breakdown:

Week 1: 1-2
Week 2: 2-2
Week 3: 3-2
Week 4: 3-1
Week 5: 0-5
Week 6: 1-1
Week 7: 2-1
Week 8: 2-0
Week 9: 3-1
Week 10: 5-4
Week 11: 2-0
Week 12: 1-2
Total: 25-21... 54%
Last 6 Weeks: 15-8... 65%

As you can see, this is our first losing week since that dreadful Week 5, and while it's not quite as bad, a losing week is a losing week, no matter how you slice it.

USC and Two Big Ten Favorites Today

Our Free NCAA Football Picks have been hot lately, hitting 70% with a 14-6 record over the last five weeks. They are hitting 56% on the year, but we hope to improve upon that today with USC and a couple of Big Ten favorites.

USC -23 over Stanford

Wisconsin -13 over Minnesota

Ohio State -9 over Illinois

Lots of chalk on today's card, but we we'll play whatever shows value in our system at this point.

Good luck!

2-0 Day in NCAA Football

Our Free NCAA Football Picks have taken their lumps this season, but after a 2-1 mark last week they went 2-0 this week, putting us back on track.

Terrelle Pryor and Ohio State trampled Michigan State 45-7, ignoring what was just a -3 spread. Meanwhile, Kansas kept it close enough against Oklahoma, covering a -20 point spread with a 45-31 loss.

The 2-0 day puts our picks back at .500, and if not for one absolutely horrible week, they would be 14-9, which is 61%. Instead, they are 14-14, so you can guess how that one week went.

Here's our week-by-week record:

Week 1: 1-2
Week 2: 2-2
Week 3: 3-2
Week 4: 3-1
Week 5: 0-5 (ouch!)
Week 6: 1-1
Week 7: 2-1
Week 8: 2-0
Total: 14-14... 50%

As you see, our Free NCAA Football Picks were enjoying steady improvement up until that dreadful Week 5. In fact, we've had just two losing weeks, only one of the losing weeks was absolutely dreadful, dragging our record down. Since that week, they are back to enjoying steady improvement--and we hope that doesn't mean another 0-5 debacle is on the horizon.

We'll hopefully get back over the hump next week, so be sure to check back as we continue to make amends for our mid-season slump.

Two Afternoon Free NCAA Football Picks

We have a couple of afternoon plays in college football today involving some match-ups between ranked teams.

Ohio State -3 over Michigan State

Kansas +20 over Oklahoma

We like Chris Wells to run by the Spartans, and Kansas should at least keep it close against the Sooners.

Good luck!

Three Big NCAA Football Covers

With the Wisconsin Badgers sneaking by the Fresno State Bulldogs, the Oklahoma Sooners pounding on the Washington Huskies, and the USC Trojans taking it to the Ohio State Buckeyes, we enjoyed three solid covers Saturday.

The three covers gives us a record of 3-2 for the day, which is 60%, but we still expect better in weeks to come once we really get our Free NCAA Football picks system down.

Remember to stay with us all year for free pick after free pick after free pick...

More Free NCAA Football Picks

To go along with our Game of the Week, we have four more Free NCAA Football plays for today.
USC -11 over Ohio State
Oklahoma -20 1/2 over Washington
Virginia +11 over Connecticut
Arizona -10 1/2 over New Mexico

First, in what is definitely our second biggest play this Saturday, we like Mark Sanchez and the Trojans to humiliate the Buckeyes of Ohio State. Nothing personal, Ohio State, Big Ten teams just always seem overmatched against the top programs in the nation.

Then we like Oklahoma to route Washington, in what continues to be a disappointing season for the Huskies.

Finally, we hear dogs barking in favor of the Cavaliers, so look out UConn.

Good luck with the plays and enjoy another great Saturday of college football action. UPDATE: We're adding Arizona to the card, so we now have a total of five games today.

NIT Action!

Don't think that March Madness only includes the NCAA Tournament, because we have some NIT action for you tonight as well!

Dayton +8 over Ohio State

This quarterfinal game will be closer than the books think, with Dayton possibly winning outright.

Good luck!
