2009 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 4-6

Yesterday, we unveiled our first three picks in our 2009 NFL Mock Draft, and today, since you've all been behaving lately, we're dishing out our next three picks.

4. Seahawks: Eugene Monroe, T, Virginia

The quarterback position will be tempting for the Seahawks, depending on how the draft unfolds, but they have an opportunity to secure the tackle position by grabbing a player that many feel is the best of the top three or four tackles.

5. Browns: Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas

Orakpo has sky-rocketed up the draft boards, and his explosiveness and athletic ability are good reasons why. Some fear he's simply a workout warrior, but his numbers at Texas indicated otherwise. This kid can play.

6. Bengals: Andre Smith, T, Alabama

This seems like too perfect of a fit. A player who has done nothing but raise character questions during the pre-draft months seems destined for those infamous Bengal stripes. Despite the issues Smith has had, we think he'll make an excellent pro, worthy of being the third tackle in the first six picks in the draft. We told you we liked the top three tackles.

Keep on checking back and we'll keep the 2009 NFL Mock Draft coming. The next three picks will likely be up tomorrow.

Afternoon Plays Go 2-2-1

Hopefully, you ignored us when we told you to stay tuned for more picks after our first three were posted.

Those first three Free NCAA Football Picks went 2-0-1 earlier today with the following results:

The pick: Rutgers -18 over Army
The result: Rutgers 30, Army 3 (Win)

As expected, Army finally received their blow out.

The pick: Clemson -3 over Virginia
The result: Clemson 13, Virginia 3 (Win)

Sloppy game, but Clemson got the job done.

The pick: Boise State -7 over Nevada
The result: Boise State 41, Nevada 34 (Push)

Can't believe Boise State let this one get so close. We thought those first three picks would be 3-0, but a poor second half by the Broncos changed that.

Then, of course, we had to go and spoil it with two stinkers in consecutive posts. So we're sitting at 2-2-1 with on play pending.

Another Batch of Free NCAA Football Picks

Last week, our Free NCAA Football Picks suffered a losing week for the first time in seven weeks. Regardless, they are hitting 65% in the last six weeks (15-8) and hopefully will remain hot closing out the season and eventually heading into bowl season. We have four picks as of right now but there could be more coming, so stay tuned.

Rutgers -18 over Army

We're banking on Scarlet prevailing in the battle of the colored Knights, although Rutgers hasn't been great this year. Then again, neither has Army. The one thing about Army, though, is that they make sure to keep their losses just close enough, so they haven't been doing too badly against the spread. Our system indicates that this is the blowout they've been waiting for.

Clemson -3 over Virginia

Clemson is simply the matter team. Definitely. Maybe. Hopefully.

Boise St. -7 over Nevada

The BCS busting Broncos will continue to screw everything up. Except this bet.

That's it for now, but there's one more game that we just have to confirm, and potentially more before kickoffs.

Three Big NCAA Football Bets

Our Free NCAA Picks are finally back to .500 at a pedestrian 14-14, but we're hoping to get over the hump with some real solid plays this week, led by Chase Daniel and Missouri.

We like a lot of big favorites this week to do what they are supposed to do, and will gladly take this kind of chalk for the value we are getting in return.

Missouri -23 over Colorado

Georgia Tech -13 over Virginia

Rice +3 over Tulane

Good luck!

More Free NCAA Football Picks

To go along with our Game of the Week, we have four more Free NCAA Football plays for today.
USC -11 over Ohio State
Oklahoma -20 1/2 over Washington
Virginia +11 over Connecticut
Arizona -10 1/2 over New Mexico

First, in what is definitely our second biggest play this Saturday, we like Mark Sanchez and the Trojans to humiliate the Buckeyes of Ohio State. Nothing personal, Ohio State, Big Ten teams just always seem overmatched against the top programs in the nation.

Then we like Oklahoma to route Washington, in what continues to be a disappointing season for the Huskies.

Finally, we hear dogs barking in favor of the Cavaliers, so look out UConn.

Good luck with the plays and enjoy another great Saturday of college football action. UPDATE: We're adding Arizona to the card, so we now have a total of five games today.

Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Postponed

No wonder the Las Vegas casino we got out Free NCAA Basketball pick from thought this game would go under. It turns out that the Georgia Tech/Virginia showdown has been postponed due to a leak in the roof, which puts this game under by 153.5 points.

If the game is not played, it will be graded as no action.

UPDATE: This game has been officially cancelled.

Stock Lemon Makes Move at Trade Deadline

In honor of the NBA trade deadline, we decided that we might be able to benefit from a deadline deal of our own.

In a trade with a Las Vegas casino that shall remain nameless, we were able to pull this blockbuster off:

Vegas Casino gets:
Lemmy's fresh squeezed lemonade
Replica Lemmy Award trophy

Stock Lemon gets:
One free winning NCAA basketball pick
One free winning NHL puck line pick
Cash considerations

The winning picks we acquired are:
NHL: Columbus Blue Jackets +1.5 over the Ottawa Senators
NCAA Basketball: Virginia/Georgia Tech Under 153.5

We think we got the better of this deal, although Lemmy's fresh squeezed lemonade is rather tasty. Good luck with the free winners!
