2009 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 10-12

The mock madness continues today with picks 10-12. Be sure to check out the rest of the mock draft by clicking the links on the upper right hand side of this page.

And off we go...

10. 49ers: Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri

The 49ers would have loved for one of the quarterbacks to fall to the tenth spot, but they'll settle for one of the top two quarterback targets in this draft. Maclin brings speed--and lots of it. He should give San Fran the offensive spark they've been looking for in the passing game, regardless of who they have throwing him the ball.

11. Bills: Everette Brown, DE, Florida State

The Bills need some help on the defensive line, and Brown is considered by most to be the second best end in the draft (and the best still available at this pick), and he's shooting fast up the draft board. Brown's quickness and versatility will make him a lot of money next weekend, and for good reason. He can probably play linebacker in a 3-4, but in Buffalo he'll stick to where he's most comfortable as an end in the 4-3.

12. Broncos: Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn State

The men in charge in Denver would have loved to see Brown fall to them at 12, but Maybin is a heck of a consolation prize. Maybin came out of nowhere and had a huge season for the Nittany Lions when he finally got the playing time and opportunity to display his talent. Maybin is also a candidate for a linebacker role in the Broncos 3-4 defense. Some think the Broncos might be able to snatch up maybe at pick 18, but we don't think they'll take that chance.

Keep checking back for more of our first full mock draft. 20 picks to go!

Missouri Covers For Some, Not For Us

We warned you that we would complain about this.

Earlier today, we bet Missouri -4 1/2 over Marquette. Later, we noted that the line was down to -3 1/2.

Missouri beat Marquette. By four.

83-79 was the final, so our Free NCAA Basketball Picks had another 1-1 day in the Tourney--unless you saw our play and bet on Mizzou later in the day. In that case, congrats on going 2-0!

Some Line Movement

We took both Xavier and Missouri at -4 1/2 last night, and, would you look at that, both lines have gone the other way.

Xavier got to -3 before tipoff against Wisconsin, and Missouri is down to -3 1/2 and counting with the return of Dominic James looming for Marquette.

The lesson here? Well there really isn't one. We just wanted you to know that we'll be whining about this later if our Free NCAA Basketball Picks for today's tournament action don't cover by a point.

Sunday's Tourney Action

The NCAA Tournament continues, as do our world famous 6-6 Free NCAA Basketball Picks!

Here are Sunday's plays:

Xavier -4 1/2 over Wisconsin

Missouri -4 1/2 over Marquette

Good luck!

Good Thing We Added Two More Picks

In a perfect world, you only saw our last post advocating you take Bowling Green and Missouri as our Free NCAA Basketball Picks. In a perfect world, you missed our post just before that.

In the post before that, we gave you four picks--two of which have lost, one which is headed to overtime, and one which has yet to tip off.

In a perfect world, though, our most recent post fit right in. Bowling Green knocked off Ohio 74-61, covering a -1 spread. Meanwhile, Missouri took care of the -12 spread in beating Texas Tech 81-60.

So, officially, we're 2-2 so far with two picks yet to be decided.

We'll update you when those go final.

More Conference Tourney Picks Today

In addition to these four picks, we have a couple more Free NCAA Basketball Picks to add for an impressive six-game card tonight.

Bowling Green -1 over Ohio

Missouri -12 over Texas Tech

Good luck!

Okay, Forget the Alamo Bowl

Missouri needed overtime to beat Northwestern 30-23 in the Alamo Bowl, meaning they failed to cover the -13 spread.

So, on second thought, feel free to completely forget the Alamo Bowl.

This game blemishes that perfect 100% bowl game mark of ours, knocking us down to 2-1 in the bowl season.

Don't Forget the Alamo Bowl

It's Alamo Bowl time, which means you'll probably be seeing plenty of headlines similar to our "Don't Forget the Alamo." "Remember the Alamo," perhaps?

Anyway, we've got a pick that's probably just as popular as the above headline, which scares us a bit. Nevertheless, we're hoping to improve on that impressive 2-0 bowl record of ours with this Free NCAA Football Pick tonight.

Missouri -13 over Northwestern

Hopefully, the Alamo Bowl will be worth remembering.

Good luck!

Three More Free NCAA Football Picks

As we mentioned last post, our Free NCAA Football Picks, which are 78% in the last three weeks with a 7-2 record, show a ton of valuable plays for this week, so we're playing all nine of the picks that our system shows.

So here's our second batch of picks, which, though not as strong as the first three, aren't off by much. Play them with confidence.

Texas -4 over Texas Tech

Missouri -20 over Baylor

Air Force -8 over Army

As you can see, there are some big favorites in this group of picks, as well as some good games. We'll post our final three Free NCAA Football Picks for this weekend momentarily.

3-1 Day Keeps Free NCAA Football Picks Hot

Our Free NCAA Football Picks have finally started living up to expectations. After struggling through the beginning of the year, our picks were just 14-14 coming into today. After a solid 3-1 day today, our picks are now 17-15, which is definitely a step in the right direction.

Chase Daniel threw five touchdowns as Missouri trampled Colorado 58-0 to cover the -23 point spread, Rice beat down Tulane 42-17, covering the +3 spread, and California edged UCLA 41-20 to cover a -17 spread.

Now that we're finally back over the .500 hump, here's a look at how our picks have done on a week-by-week basis.

Week 1: 1-2
Week 2: 2-2
Week 3: 3-2
Week 4: 3-1
Week 5: 0-5 :(
Week 6: 1-1
Week 7: 2-1
Week 8: 2-0
Week 9: 3-1
Total: 17-15... 53%

We've improved every week since our disastrous Week 5, and we look for more positive results the rest of the way.

Three Big NCAA Football Bets

Our Free NCAA Picks are finally back to .500 at a pedestrian 14-14, but we're hoping to get over the hump with some real solid plays this week, led by Chase Daniel and Missouri.

We like a lot of big favorites this week to do what they are supposed to do, and will gladly take this kind of chalk for the value we are getting in return.

Missouri -23 over Colorado

Georgia Tech -13 over Virginia

Rice +3 over Tulane

Good luck!
