The Road to the Super Bowl Begins (Free NFL Picks 60% YTD)

The NFL Playoffs are finally here, and with that, we officially begin our journey toward the 2011 Super Bowl XLV (45).

So go ahead, pick us up and let's go for a ride.

We will have Free NFL Picks (60% in the regular season) throughout the playoffs, starting with one Saturday:

Seattle Seahawks +11 over the New Orleans Saints

This is one of the weirdest games in recent memory, as it seems clear to everyone that the 7-9 Seahawks have no chance. And yet, here we are. Part of us feels like Vegas is just bating us with this 11-point spread, but part of us, perhaps out of delusion, thinks the Seahawks could completely surprise everyone and win the darn thing.

New Orleans won at home against Seattle this year, 34-19, a 15-point win that would suggest they can easily cover an 11-point spread. But a playoff home crowd in one of the toughest stadiums to play in; one of the bigger underdogs in playoff history; a complete lack of a reliable rushing threat for New Orleans; and the fact that the spread is at freaking -11 for a road playoff team have us on the Seahawks. This game has garbage cover written all over it.

This could be an interesting start to the NFL playoffs for our Free NFL Picks.

Free NFL Picks Look to Continue Winning Ways (62%)

Though the plays have been sporadic these last few weeks, we've been able to muster up an 8-4 record with our Free NFL Picks following our lone losing week of the season. Here's hoping to more of that today with some favorites.

Seahawks -5 over Panthers

Vikings -5 1/2 over Bills

Colts -6 over Cowboys

Good luck!

3-1 Week For Free NFL Picks As Well!

In addition to our Free NCAA Football Picks going 3-1 this weekend, our Free NFL Picks did the same.

The Bears covered a -3 spread with 25-19 win over Seahawks; the Bills and Saints went under 51 1/2 points in a 27-7 Saints victory; and the Colts stomped the Cardinals and a ridiculous +2 1/2 spread in a 31-10 Sunday night win.

We'll get to our weekly breakdown and record update momentarily.

Free NFL Picks Look For Winning Week

After two weeks, our Free NFL Picks are a disappointing 5-6, but we expect better results moving forward when more current stats become available (rather than using a combination of last year's stats).

In Week One, we had a crazy nine-pick card, only to follow that with just two picks in Week Two. In Week Three, we have more of a standard Stock Lemon card in terms of quantity and hopefully quality.

Titans +3 over the Jets

Bears -3 over the Seahawks

Colts +2 1/2 over the Cardinals

Bills/Saints UNDER 51 1/2

Three road teams and an under this week. Not in love with the fact that all of our picks are on the road, but we'll play what the system gives us, especially early on.

Good luck!

1-1 Split For Free NFL Picks

With only two Free NFL Picks this week, it was either win them both or have a disappointing day.

We had a disappointing day.

Only the 49ers were able to cover with a 23-10 victory over the Seahawks, taking care of the -1 spread. The 1-1 week means our Free NFL Picks are still under .500 at 5-6.

Here's the breakdown:

Week 1: 4-5
Week 2: 1-1
Total: 5-6

Week Two Free NFL Picks Are In

Another Sunday is upon us!

It won't be as eventful as last week when we had nine games total (eight on Sunday), as we have just two Free NFL Picks for this week.

Carolina Panthers +6 over the Atlanta Falcons

San Francisco 49ers -1 over the Seattle Seahawks

Our picks went just 4-5 in a busy Week 1, but we expect two winners here.

Good luck!

The Seahawks Really Are Crappy

We just thought we would share this screenshot courtesy of Seahawks punter Jon Ryan's Facebook page.

If you can't read it (click the image to enlarge), Ryan's comment is "A bird just shat on me." Just when we thought the Seahawks couldn't stink any worse.

2009 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 4-6

Yesterday, we unveiled our first three picks in our 2009 NFL Mock Draft, and today, since you've all been behaving lately, we're dishing out our next three picks.

4. Seahawks: Eugene Monroe, T, Virginia

The quarterback position will be tempting for the Seahawks, depending on how the draft unfolds, but they have an opportunity to secure the tackle position by grabbing a player that many feel is the best of the top three or four tackles.

5. Browns: Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas

Orakpo has sky-rocketed up the draft boards, and his explosiveness and athletic ability are good reasons why. Some fear he's simply a workout warrior, but his numbers at Texas indicated otherwise. This kid can play.

6. Bengals: Andre Smith, T, Alabama

This seems like too perfect of a fit. A player who has done nothing but raise character questions during the pre-draft months seems destined for those infamous Bengal stripes. Despite the issues Smith has had, we think he'll make an excellent pro, worthy of being the third tackle in the first six picks in the draft. We told you we liked the top three tackles.

Keep on checking back and we'll keep the 2009 NFL Mock Draft coming. The next three picks will likely be up tomorrow.

Eagles and Packers Both Cover

We told you to go with the 2-3 teams today, and so far if you took our advice, you'd be 2-0.

The Eagles came back to beat the 49ers by a count of 40-26, covering a -4 1/2 point spread, while the Packers covered a +1 1/2 point spread with a 27-17 victory over the Seahawks.

The quarterbacks were key in both of these victories, with Donovan McNabb and Aaron Rodgers putting together great performances to get us a couple of covers.

Our Free NFL Picks are 2-0 so far today, and we're hoping the Chargers can make it 3-0 with a cover against the Patriots tonight. Overall, our Free NFL Pick record is now 11-5-1, which is 69%.

We hope you played these games with us today and made some extra cash for yourself.

Take the 2-3 Teams in the NFL Today

We had just one Free NFL Pick last week... and it pushed. This week, though, we are back with multiple picks, as our computer system shows three strong sides.

Eagles -4 1/2 over the 49ers

Packers +1 1/2 over the Seahawks

Chargers -4 1/2 over the Patriots

Donovan McNabb and the Eagles shouldn't feel embarrased after a date with the 49ers. In addition to Philly, we like two other 2-3 teams desperate for a win on Sunday.

If you're new to the site, we've faired pretty well in the NFL so far this season. Here are our weekly results to date:

Week 1: 3-2
Week 2: 2-1
Week 3: 2-1
Week 4: 2-1
Week 5: 0-0-1
Total: 9-5-1... 64%

A 64% record speaks for itself, but we're hoping our record speaks even louder after Week 6.

Good luck!

Bills and an AFC East Under Are Money

Marshawn Lynch and the Buffalo Bills steamrolled the Seahawks on Sunday, opening the season with a 34-10 pounding.

We took the Bills as a Free NFL Pick with a -1 spread, and didn't have to sweat the result.

Also in the AFC East, the much anticipated Jets debut of Brett Favre went well for the future hall-of-famer, but even better for us. Though the legendary quarterback finished with two touchdowns and earned a win over the Dolphins, the final score of 20-14 fell below the over/under set at 36.5.

These two victories are just a sign of things to come this year in the NFL here at Stock Lemon. Stay with us throughout the year for more Free NFL Picks, at the low, low price of free.

Three More Free NFL Picks

We already gave you our Game of the Week, now it's time for the rest of the solid Free NFL Picks this weekend.

New York Jets/Miami Dolphins UNDER 36.5

Buffalo Bills -1 over the Seattle Seahawks

Houstona Texans +7 over the Pittsburgh Steelers

In Brett Favre's first game with the Jets, he won't even be the biggest story of the game. The weather, not Favre, will have the biggest impact on this game, thanks to hurricane rains and winds that result in a low-scoring contest between to teams coming off of dismal 2007 campaigns.

The Bills are being overlooked at home against a soft Seattle team--don't be surprised to see them win big.

The Texans are a team on the rise and the Steelers are a team on the decline, the smart money is one Houston in Week 1.

Good luck and enjoy the free winners all weekend long!
