Week Two Free NFL Picks Are In

Another Sunday is upon us!

It won't be as eventful as last week when we had nine games total (eight on Sunday), as we have just two Free NFL Picks for this week.

Carolina Panthers +6 over the Atlanta Falcons

San Francisco 49ers -1 over the Seattle Seahawks

Our picks went just 4-5 in a busy Week 1, but we expect two winners here.

Week One Free NFL Picks: Part One

We promised a huge Free NFL Pick lineup this week, so huge that we had to split it up into two parts. Well, no we didn't, but we will anyway.

Panthers +3 over the Eagles

Texans -4 1/2 over the Jets

NFL Divisional Round Playoff Picks

Our Free NFL Picks went 0-2 last Saturday, then bounced back with a 2-0 Sunday. Hopefully, this Saturday will be more like last Sunday. And then Sunday will be like last Sunday.

There's only one way to find out.

Titans -3 over the Ravens

Baltimore is a popular upset pick, but this week we're against the rookie quarterback on the road. Joe Flacco will try to become the first rook to win two playoff games, but we think he'll fall short of that goal. Both teams boast great defenses, but the ageless wonder Kerry Collins and the Titans offense has the edge in a matchup of very similar squads.

Panthers -10 over the Cardinals

Yes, that says -10. It's a lot to lay but the Panthers are the good and we're still convinced that the Cardinals are that bad. Go wit DeAngelo Williams and the bruising Panthers offense.

So far, all of our playoff picks have been the favorites when the lines opened. It's not something we're proud of, but that's the way things have shaken out thus far.

Panthers to the Rescue

The Panthers took care of the Raiders and the -9 1/2 point spread in a defensive struggle today, salvaging our day of Free NFL Picks.

Julius Peppers got to Andrew Walter three times in this one, helping us cover in the afternoon game. Unfortunately, due to a couple of losses, the system drops down to 18-12-1, which is 60%.

It still looks like we will have a pick for the Monday Nighter tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Free NFL Picks Ready For an Encore

Fresh off of a 4-0 week, our Free NFL Picks are ready for more. The picks are 17-10-2 heading into Week 10, and we hope to improve on that 63% mark with another successful week. Here are the picks:

Texans +1 over the Ravens

The Texans have underachieved this year, while the Ravens have overachieved. At home, we think that's about to change for both squads. Much is made about the Ravens D, but Mario Williams and some others on an underrated Texans defense will make life difficult for rookie quarterback Joe Flacco. The system sees this as the strongest play this weekend.

Panthers -9 1/2 over the Raiders

The computer likes this one, and while it looks like a sucker bet, it's impossible to be talked out of making.

Jacksonville Jaguars/Detroit Lions UNDER 43

Daunte Culpepper and the Lions will be out of sync, even more than usual. The Jags should get back on track in Detroit, though this could be a surprisingly close and--let's hope--low scoring affair.

Hopefully these three Free NFL Picks can have the same success as the picks had last week. If not, it looks like we might once again have a pick for the Monday Night Football game, so stay tuned and good luck.

Two Solid Free NFL Picks

We had a rough week last week, but our Free NFL Picks are still 12-8-1, which is 60%. We look to rebound this week with two solid plays.

Carolina Panthers -4 over the Arizona Cardinals

New England Patriots -7 1/2 over the St. Louis Rams

Steve Smith and the Panthers should be able to top the Cards, while New England should continue the dominance they showed on Monday Night with a big win over the rejuvanted Rams.

Three Free NFL Picks For Sunday

Our Free NFL Picks have been hot this year, hitting 71% with a record of 12-5-1. Once again, we have three picks this week, although that is more of a coincidence than anything. We're also coming off of a 3-0 week, so bet with confidence in our system. Without further adu, here are the picks:

Cowboys -7 over the Rams

Colts -1 1/2 over the Packers

Saints +3 over the Panthers

Even if Tony Romo sits out the Cowboys/Rams game, Marian Barber will run all over the Rams defense. The Rams are coming off a big win over the Redskins last week and will come crashing back down to Earth against Dallas.

Our system also likes the Colts, who seem to have their offense back, as well as the Saints, who continue to get no respect despite the fact that they could easily be 5-1 if not for some questionable officiating/horrible kicking. We expect all three of these road teams to win outright and cover their respective spreads.

Saints and Panthers Give Us 2-1 Week in NFL

We hadn't really realized it initially, but we were all about the NFC South this week. We bet on the Panthers to beat the Falcons, then took the Saints to win and the Buccaneers to lose. That's all four NFC South squads accounted for.

So how did it turn out? Our bookies bank accounts went south.

The Saints took it to the 49ers 31-17 to cover a -4 spread, as Drew Brees and New Orleans found a way to get it done in our biggest play of the week. Elsewhere, the Panthers knocked off the Falcons 24-9 to cover the -6 1/2 spread.

We should have stuck with the favorites, though, as the Bucs topped the Packers 30-21. We took the more talented team over the more emotionally invested team (with the death of Bucs' kicker Matt Braynt's infant child earlier this week), and we paid for it.

Still, a 2-1 week still means extra cash in our pockets. Strangely enough, this is the third straight 2-1 week for our Free NFL Picks, following a 3-2 week, so we've had a winning weekend in all four weeks of the young NFL season to date. Our picks are now 9-5 for 64%.

Sunday is here and we have three Free NFL Picks for you today. Our biggest of the three plays is Reggie Bush and the Saints running by the 49ers at home, but the other two plays look solid as well.

Mean Machine Interested in Acquiring Harrison

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison may have gotten himself into all sorts of trouble in Philadelphia, but whatever happens, he'll be able to continue playing football, regardless.

Reports out of Allenville indicate that the Mean Machine have a strong interest in Harrison should he become available. Quarterback Michael Vick told coach Burt Reynolds that he would love to have another deep threat (on the field) to play alongside Rae Carruth. The former Falcons quarterback has looked sharp so far in practice, but feels the team could benefit from adding Harrison prior to their first and only game of the 2008 schedule.

"I've always wanted to play with Marvin," Vick said. "He's a tremendous player and he'd really help provide a spark for us. These last few practices we've been dead as dogs... er... uh... we've been really tired. He could really help us in the big game against the Guards, so hopefully he ends up in jail over this."

Vick's current No. 1 target, former Panthers wide receiver Rae Carruth, is open to the competition.

"Harrison's play-making ability and work ethic would be a huge boost to this team," Carruth said. "Lately, our guys have been practicing like a bunch of babies. And I hate babies. I hate them so much."

Whether they are able to acquire Harrison prior to the game against the Guards is uncertain, but the Mean Machine plan on doing "whatever it takes" to try and get Harrison behind bars.
