Four Dogs, Four Straight Up Wins For Free NFL Playoff Picks

... Now let's go eat a god damn snack!

If you're not following our Free NFL Playoff Picks, what are you waiting for? After a successful season over 60%, we are now 4-0 in the playoffs, picking four dogs and seeing them win straight up in each contest so far. While we foolishly haven't been betting money lines (part of a long-term philosophy that we may need to re-think), we hope you have been doing so or at least hoping on these picks and taking the points.

The Jets are the latest to win straight up despite being huge dogs of 9 1/2 points. As we noted earlier this week, this line was largely public driven based on the Week 13 game between these two clubs. Sure, the Pats kicked the crap out of the Jets, but not to the point where they should be nearly 10 point favorites in an intra-division playoff game against a highly confident and talented squad.

While our Free NFL Picks stay hot (7-1 since Week 17), they are far from finished. We'll have plenty of coverage as the NFL's Final Four heads toward the 2011 Super Bowl XLV (45). Will it be the Jets-Bears? Jets-Packers? Steelers-Bears? Steelers-Packers? We'll find out soon enough--and then the real fun begins: Super bowl prop betting season.

Rodgers and Packers Improve Free NFL Playoff Picks to 3-0

We interrupt our regularly scheduled posts featuring scantily-clad young ladies to show you something that, to those wagering on the Packers Saturday, is even sexier.

Aaron Rodgers is the reason we felt confident in our Free NFL Pick of the Packers +2 1/2 over the Falcons, and his play has helped those very picks to a 3-0 playoff start.

The Packers and Steelers have made it to the Final Four in the NFL and will await their opponents on Sunday. We'll pick up the coverage of those match-ups as the Super Bowl nears, and we may even have some 2011 Super Bowl XLV (45) proposition wagers prior to the Super Bowl matchup even being determined.

And, of course, once our Super Bowl teams are set in stone, the prop betting fun really begins when we take a look at some of the wackier prop bets of Super Bowl 45, including the coin toss, Gatorade dump and National Anthem.

As a reminder, our Free NFL Pick for Sunday's slate of games:

Jets +9 1/2 over the Patriots

Good luck and stay with us throughout the NFL Playoffs as we close in on our expansive Super Bowl gambling coverage!

Free NFL Playoff Picks Continue as Super Bowl Nears (61%)

At this point, we are already just counting down the days to 2011 Super Bowl XLV (45) in Dallas, waiting to unleash the fury of our prop betting expertise. But for now, we will "settle" for high-caliber playoff football in what some call the best weekend in the NFL.

As it stand right now, we have one pick for Saturday and one pick for Sunday. They are:

Packers +1 1/2 over Falcons

Jets +9 1/2 over Patriots

We have been riding the dogs this postseason (believe us, Seahawks +10 and Ravens +3 1/2 are also very tempting), but we think these two plays represent the best value on the board. The Packers seem to be too obvious of a pick, and too many people are counting out the 13-3 Falcons who rarely lose at home. Still, the Packers have the hot hand and in the playoffs, you ride it.

In the Jets/Patriots showdown, much has been made about the pre-game smack talk. We think much more needs to be made about the fact that the Pats defense isn't all that good. Sure, Mark Sanchez is horrible, but we just think the Patriots are more vulnerable than most think--even at home. To get 9 1/2 points against a division team in the playoffs is absurd and something that is basically the result of one single game that the Patriots and Jets played.

Lots of value with the dogs once again, as is often the case in the playoffs, and we're riding with these two as our 2-0 Free NFL Playoff Picks look to remain winless.

Giving Thanks For Our Free Picks

We had a little better record this past weekend, going 3-1 in the NFL and a still below-average 2-2 in NCAA Football, but hey, anything to take our minds off of the week prior.

And this week provides another opportunity to forget about the losses we've had and give thanks for the wins, and hope that more are to come.

While you stuff your face with turkey today, stuff your wallet with this Free NFL Pick. Of course, more picks will follow this weekend, but let this fulfill your hunger for betting action tomorrow.

Patriots -7 over the Lions

The Lions have been a tough out on Thanksgiving, but not this tough. The Patriots should come prepared to take down a depleted Lions team fading fast.

And if the Patriots don't come through, at least you'll eat well watching it.

Good luck and happy Thanksgiving!

2009 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 21-23

As we enter the final week before the 2009 NFL Draft, we're about to put our finishing touches on our own 2009 NFL Mock Draft.

You can check out the previous 20 picks by clicking the appropriate link in the upper right hand column of this site.

Today, we're giving out our next three picks, which includes a couple of big playmakers. Take it away Philly.

21. Eagles: Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia

The best running back in the draft, and possibly one of the best players in a few years, finally gets selected with the twenty-first pick. Moreno is the second RB picked in our mock draft, but we really feel that he is the best option in the backfield. Not only that, but Moreno is really a complete back, with the ability to catch balls out of the backfield similar to the way the Eagles typically use their running backs. Philly will get a difference maker and eventually their future starting running back late in the draft, a tremendous value for pick 21. With the moves Philly has already made (and some other trades they might make around draft day), they could be going deep into the playoffs yet again in 2009.

22. Vikings: Percy Harvin, WR, Florida

Sticking with the SEC, the Vikings search for a true No. 1 wideout continues with the selection of Harvin. Harvin played a key role on the National Champion Gators team, but we're not sure if his skills will translate in the NFL. In Minnesota, he might be hindered by the lack of a real quarterback, but he certainly has the athleticism and skill set capable of being a breakout receiver someday.

23. Patriots: Clay Matthews, LB, USC

The Patriots will be looking linebacker here, and Matthews is a dependable defender who should fit in nicely in New England. He's a safer pick than most in this draft, but he doesn't have as much potential as some others in our view. Matthews will mark the third USC linebacker chosen in the first 23 picks, and time will tell where he stacks up against his higher-picked college teammates.

We'll keep on mocking through the week leading up to the NFL Draft, so be sure to check back as we round out the first 32 picks.

Free Super Bowl Pick

We hope you've enjoyed our 2009 Super Bowl 43 Prop Bet Spectacular, as it has been fun for us. All of those prop bets can be found on the upper right hand side of this very page, so check them out if you missed them.

Now, though, it's time to pick the actual game. So, without further ado, here is our Free Super Bowl Pick.

Cardinals +7 over the Steelers

Maybe the Cards won't win it, but they'll certainly be in it. The Super Bowl in recent years has become a very hard fought game, and it's now rare to find a complete mismatch, even if it looks like it should be on paper.

Just ask people who thought the Patriots would kill the Giants last year.

People like us.

Everybody knows about the Cardinals explosive offense, but we think the defense will make the difference for Arizona.

Karlos Dansby. Adrian Wilson. Bertrand Berry. This is a very underrated group that has come into its own a bit in the playoffs. Ben Roethlisberger, even without the injuries he carries into the game, will have a hard time with this unit.

We're not ready to pick the Cardinals straight up, but we certainly like taking them with seven points in their favor.

So, despite our website's color layout suggesting that we might like the Steelers, we think we're playing our Cards right by backing Arizona.

Lemmy Squeezes More Juice For Free NFL Picks

Things have been pretty average around here lately. It seems like every post we're writing about going .500 for the day, be it 1-1-, 2-2-1, 1-1, 1-1, 1-1, or 1-1.

Well, guess what? Our Free NFL Picks went 1-1 today.

The Patriots covered the -1 spread with a 48-28 pounding over the Dolphins, but the Chargers choked in the final minute--again--and lost to the Colts 23-20, losing against the -2 1/2 spread in the process.

So, once again, we had a .500 day, and Lemmy lost some more juice, or lemonade as we say here at Stock Lemon.

The bad news is that the 1-1 day drags our Free NFL Picks record under the 60% mark that looks so good on resumes. We are now 22-15-2 on the year, which is 59.4%.

The good news is that we will have a play coming for the Packers/Saints Monday Nighter tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Just Two Free NFL Picks This Week

Our Free NFL Picks only like two games this week, both in the AFC.

Chargers -2 1/2 over the Colts

Patriots -1 over Dolphins

Our system is hitting 60% thus far with a record of 21-14-2, but we're optimistic that these two picks will put us above the 60% benchmark.

Good luck!

Brett Favre Swears Just Like a Kid Out There

Aw, look at Brett Favre out there, he's like a little kid in that tunnel, swearing for the love of the game. He drops F bombs like we would drop F bombs if we could beat the Patriots on Thursday night. Just like a little kid out there, having fun, yelling profanities the way profanities were meant to be yelled.

Though you have to wait until about the 2:37 mark before you get a glimpse of Favre, it's worth it to watch him put together a two consecutive curse streak. Nobody does it like Brett Favre.

UPDATE: This video has been removed from Youtube. You'll have to take our word for it.

Two Solid Free NFL Picks

We had a rough week last week, but our Free NFL Picks are still 12-8-1, which is 60%. We look to rebound this week with two solid plays.

Carolina Panthers -4 over the Arizona Cardinals

New England Patriots -7 1/2 over the St. Louis Rams

Steve Smith and the Panthers should be able to top the Cards, while New England should continue the dominance they showed on Monday Night with a big win over the rejuvanted Rams.

Good luck!

Small Lean on the Broncos Tonight

After a rough day with our Free NFL Picks yesterday, which are now down to 12-8-1 (60%), we're looking long and hard at tonight's game between the Broncos and Patriots.

Our system indicates that the Broncos have some potential at +3, but we'll have to factor in a few more statistics before pulling the trigger on this one.

Stay tuned.

UPDATE: We do not have any plays for tonight's game, so there will be no chasing a rough week for us.

Chargers Make It a 3-0 Sunday

The Chargers crushed the Patriots tonight, 30-10, easily covering the -4 1/2 point spread and giving us a perfect 3-0 sweep in the NFL today.

Like in our previous games today, the quarterback play led to an easy cover. Philip Rivers was exceptional for San Diego, making sure that we didn't sweat this one out at all.

All three teams we picked to cover today now move from 2-3 to 3-3. Meanwhile are Free NFL Picks move from 9-5-1 to 12-5-1. Not a bad day.

We'll give a full update of our records momentarily.

Eagles and Packers Both Cover

We told you to go with the 2-3 teams today, and so far if you took our advice, you'd be 2-0.

The Eagles came back to beat the 49ers by a count of 40-26, covering a -4 1/2 point spread, while the Packers covered a +1 1/2 point spread with a 27-17 victory over the Seahawks.

The quarterbacks were key in both of these victories, with Donovan McNabb and Aaron Rodgers putting together great performances to get us a couple of covers.

Our Free NFL Picks are 2-0 so far today, and we're hoping the Chargers can make it 3-0 with a cover against the Patriots tonight. Overall, our Free NFL Pick record is now 11-5-1, which is 69%.

We hope you played these games with us today and made some extra cash for yourself.

Take the 2-3 Teams in the NFL Today

We had just one Free NFL Pick last week... and it pushed. This week, though, we are back with multiple picks, as our computer system shows three strong sides.

Eagles -4 1/2 over the 49ers

Packers +1 1/2 over the Seahawks

Chargers -4 1/2 over the Patriots

Donovan McNabb and the Eagles shouldn't feel embarrased after a date with the 49ers. In addition to Philly, we like two other 2-3 teams desperate for a win on Sunday.

If you're new to the site, we've faired pretty well in the NFL so far this season. Here are our weekly results to date:

Week 1: 3-2
Week 2: 2-1
Week 3: 2-1
Week 4: 2-1
Week 5: 0-0-1
Total: 9-5-1... 64%

A 64% record speaks for itself, but we're hoping our record speaks even louder after Week 6.

Good luck!

Patriots and Packers Win For 2-0 Day

Yes, folks, that is a Patriots quarterback celebrating after a nice victory and cover for Stock Lemon. No, folks, that is not Tom Brady.

In for the injured Brady, Matt Cassel did enough to lead the Patriots to a 19-10 victory over the Jets, which covers the +1 1/2 and gives us a Game of the Week win.

The Pats D made Brett Favre look... well... old, and the AFC champs continue to dominate the regular season.

Speaking of Favre, his old team in Green Bay also won us some money, with a 48-25 stomping of the Lions. It got close for a while, but Aaron Rodgers and the Pack pulled away to make the -3 spread look foolish.

After a 2-0 day in the NFL, our Free NFL Picks are now 5-2 to start the young season, which is an impressive 71%. Make sure to check back every weekend for more free winners in the NFL.

Take the Patriots and Packers

As you might have guessed from our earlier post this week tracking the line movement in the game, the Patriots/Jets showdown this Sunday is our Game of the Week. And yes, we still like the Patriots.

Patriots +1 1/2 over the Jets

The Patriots might not have Tom Brady, but Matt Cassel can and will just chuck it up to Randy Moss all day long. The Patriots shouldn't miss a beat.

Also, we have just one other play for Sunday, and it involves another quarterback getting a lack of respect. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, despite a strong showing on Monday night, are just three-point favorites in Detroit this week. This line has great value, so get on it!

Packers -3 over Lions

Again, our Free NFL Picks this week are the Patriots and the Packers. These same picks started off with a 60% Week 1, so we're expecting a couple of more wins today.

Good luck!

Keep an Eye on the Patriots Line

As Tom Brady limped off the field Sunday, we couldn't wait to see the line for the Patriots next game agains the Jets this week. We figured, with the star quarterback lost for the year in a game that saw his team barely sneak by the Chiefs, the Patriots won't be getting any respect this week against Brett Favre and the J-E-T-S.

We were right.

The Patriots line is +1 1/2 on Bodog, and that will be one to watch for this weekend as we dish out our Free NFL Picks (which were 60% in week one). Keep a close eye on this line, as the public might give the Patriots even more points!

The bottom line is this: the Patriots went 18-1 and earned a Super Bowl appearance last year as a team. Although Brady was a huge part of that, the Patriots still have a great team, and should still be able to beat the Jets.

Brady or no Brady, Favre or no Favre, there's no way we pass up on a chance to take the most dominant team in the league at +1 1/2 over the Jets, who looked shakey at best last week against the Dolphins.

All that the new Pats QB Matt Cassel has to do is chuck it up to Randy Moss, which he proved capable of in Kansas City, and the Patriots stellar offensive line, underrated rushing game, and solid defense should take care of the rest.

When the Patriots steamroll the Jets this weekend, remember to thank us. And Bernard Pollard.

BREAKING NEWS: Strahan to Retire From Giants

We don't typically break this type of news, but this is too big for us to pass up. A source close to both the New York Giants and Michael Strahan has informed us that the Giants defensive end will not return for another season in 2008.

While the official announcement is not expected for at least a couple of weeks, our source indicated that Strahan has already told the team that he will not be back. Per the source, Strahan telephoned head coach Tom Coughlin to inform him of his decision, but will wait to take it public.

This news comes on the same day that another legend, Packers quarterback Brett Favre, officially called it quits. Perhaps Strahan saw the emotional press conference Favre held earlier today and decided that he is ready to hang them up after knocking off the Patriots to earn his first career Super Bowl ring.

Maybe Favre is also the reason why Strahan will wait to break the news. Favre gift-wrapped a sack for Strahan back in 2002, allowing the Giants legend to break the record for sacks in a single season. Maybe Strahan is simply letting Favre enjoy his moment in the limelight.

The Giants have lost a few key players in free agency, and Strahan will be difficult for the defending champs to replace.

Super Bowl XLII Most Watched Ever

A record number of viewers tuned in to the Super Bowl on Fox yesterday to watch, among other things, Justin Tuck and the Giants defensive line make Tom Brady look like the backup college quarterback that he once was. According to Nielsen Media Research, the Giants upset over the Patriots drew 97.5 million viewers, roughly 3.5 million more than the previous high.

For us, it means we can chalk up another prop bet victory , since we correctly predicted that this would be the most watched game in NFL history. Our record for Super Bowl prop bets this year was a modest 2-1, and we look forward to a few more prop bet victories on the Pro Bowl this coming Sunday.

No Handshake From Don Shula

Following an unexpected Giants victory over the Patriots in the Super Bowl, Don Shula was not on the field to shake Bill Belichick's hand, just like we expected.

Even if Shula had planned on shaking the hand of the Patriots' coach, Belichick left the field with one second still remaining, due to a goofy scene that called for Eli Manning to kneel the ball before the game was officially over. Since the Giants won, though, it is doubtful that Shula was anywhere near the field. Actually, it would have been doubtful either way.

Congrats to those of you who were on this Super Bowl prop bet. If you weren't, there's always next year--or there's always the NBA this year. Keep checking back for our hot Free NBA Picks throughout the rest of the NBA season.
