Free NCAA Football Picks Go 3-1

Now that's more like it.

After two weeks, our Free NCAA Football Picks came in at .500 with a 3-3 record. This week, we went 3-1 and improved our record to the gambling benchmark of 60%.

Washington's shocking 16-13 win over USC wasn't all that shocking to us, after our system picked them +20. When Florida and Tennessee stayed well under the 53 point o/u, we had ourselves a 2-0 afternoon.

Mississippi State gave us our third win of the day with a 15-3 win over Vanderbilt, our second underdog of the day to win outright (at +9).

It's easy to second guess picks with the benefit of hindsight, but we enjoy the days when the only thing we second guess is that we didn't bet moneylines.

Stay with us all season for more winning college football picks. We leave you with our weekly breakdown:

Week 1: 2-1
Week 2: 1-2
Week 3: 3-1
Total: 6-4... 60%

Florida/Tennessee UNDER 53

Washington +20 over USC

Arkansas -2 over Georgia

Mississippi State +9 over Vanderbilt

Good luck!

2009 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 21-23

As we enter the final week before the 2009 NFL Draft, we're about to put our finishing touches on our own 2009 NFL Mock Draft.

You can check out the previous 20 picks by clicking the appropriate link in the upper right hand column of this site.

Today, we're giving out our next three picks, which includes a couple of big playmakers. Take it away Philly.

21. Eagles: Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia

The best running back in the draft, and possibly one of the best players in a few years, finally gets selected with the twenty-first pick. Moreno is the second RB picked in our mock draft, but we really feel that he is the best option in the backfield. Not only that, but Moreno is really a complete back, with the ability to catch balls out of the backfield similar to the way the Eagles typically use their running backs. Philly will get a difference maker and eventually their future starting running back late in the draft, a tremendous value for pick 21. With the moves Philly has already made (and some other trades they might make around draft day), they could be going deep into the playoffs yet again in 2009.

22. Vikings: Percy Harvin, WR, Florida

Sticking with the SEC, the Vikings search for a true No. 1 wideout continues with the selection of Harvin. Harvin played a key role on the National Champion Gators team, but we're not sure if his skills will translate in the NFL. In Minnesota, he might be hindered by the lack of a real quarterback, but he certainly has the athleticism and skill set capable of being a breakout receiver someday.

23. Patriots: Clay Matthews, LB, USC

The Patriots will be looking linebacker here, and Matthews is a dependable defender who should fit in nicely in New England. He's a safer pick than most in this draft, but he doesn't have as much potential as some others in our view. Matthews will mark the third USC linebacker chosen in the first 23 picks, and time will tell where he stacks up against his higher-picked college teammates.

We'll keep on mocking through the week leading up to the NFL Draft, so be sure to check back as we round out the first 32 picks.

And Your National Champion is...

Our Free NCAA Football Picks went out with a bang as Florida beat Oklahoma 24-14 to cover the -4 1/2 spread (or -6 if you didn't bet until kickoff) in the BCS Championship Game.

What this means, of course, is that we can finally crown this year's National Champion... the Utah Utes!

At 13-0, Utah is the clear National Champion in the absence of a college football playoff system.

Congratulations to the Gators on their second place finish.

BCS Championship Game Pick

It's been a fun year of college football (aside from the continuing lack of a playoffs system), but as they say, all good things must come to and end.

That end for our Free NCAA Football Picks is the BCS Championship Game between Florida and Oklahoma. In what is essentially a home game for Florida, we were faced with a choice.

Do we put our money on the Sooners, who boast the Heisman Trophy winning Sam Bradford? Or, do we bet on the Gators, who boast the Lemmy Award winning Gator Bait message board?

In the end, it was an easy decision.

Florida -4 1/2 over Oklahoma

Since apparently this is a pretty big game, we thought we'd get our pick out a day early, giving you plenty of time to check it out.

Good luck and congratulations on making it through another bowl season without having to take out a second mortgage on your house. Well, at least not because of any bets you made.

Take the Tide Today

Our Free NCAA Football Picks are hitting 62% in the last eight weeks and we have one play in the SEC Championship Game today.

Alabama +10 over Florida

This should do it for our Free NCAA Football Picks until it's time to go bowling.

Good luck!

Free NCAA Football Picks Go 5-4

We were hoping for a little better results today as we played nine Free NCAA Picks, but we'll have to settle for a 5-4 day. While we were hoping to win a few more of these picks, it's still a winning day, and we can take comfort in the fact that our top three picks went 3-0 today.

Turns out, we would have been better off just going with just those three, but the other six plays had too much value for us to ignore.

TCU, Florida, Air Force, and Kentucky all covered, while Tulsa and Arkansas went under, giving us our five wins today. The 5-4 mark brings our year-to-date record to 22-19, still far below our expectations.

Here's a week-by-week look at how our Free NCAA Football Picks have done:

Week 1: 1-2
Week 2: 2-2
Week 3: 3-2
Week 4: 3-1
Week 5: 0-5
Week 6: 1-1

Week 7: 2-1
Week 8: 2-0
Week 9: 3-1

Week 10: 5-4
Total: 22-19... 54%

Though the results are a little less than what we had hoped thus far, we have still had just two losing weeks, and haven't had one since that disastrous Week 5. If only we could take that week out of the equation, we would be sitting pretty with a 22-14 record for 61%. Of course, we can't, so all we can do is continue to have winning weeks as we gradually improve upon our YTD record.

We hope you'll stay with us as we do just that.

Huge Week For Free NCAA Football Picks

Our Free NCAA Football Picks are finally picking up some steam at 7-2 (78%) over the last three weeks, and we look to continue that success with our biggest card of the season.

So far, through nine weeks, we've played a total of 32 games. This week alone, we have nine picks.

We'll post our picks in the order of their strength according to our system, starting with the picks with the best value. The top three picks are:

Florida -6 1/2 over Georgia

TCU -14 over UNLV

Tulsa/Arkansas UNDER 76 1/2

We have six more picks to come, so stay tuned!

Florida and Texas Lead Us To 2-1 Day

Thanks to the play of a couple of great college quarterbacks, we won a couple of great big games today.

Tim Tebow led Florida past LSU 51-21 to cover a 6 1/2 point spread, while Colt McCoy and Texas beat Oklahoma 45-35 to take care of the +7 spread.

All in all, our Free NCAA Football Picks had a 2-1 night, and we are looking forward to this kind of success throughout the remainder of the college football season.

Three Free NCAA Football Picks Today

We have three Free NCAA Football Picks this week in what should be a good Saturday. Our computer system likes the following:

Texas +7 over Oklahoma

Florida -6 1/2 over LSU

Kentucky +3 over South Carolina

Colt McCoy and Texas should at the very least not let the Sooners beat them by a touchdown, and our system indicates that the spread is too high. Florida and Kentucky should also take care of business in what amounts to be a big game card for us.

Good luck!

Florida and Alabama Cover Easily

With a 30-6 crushing of Tennessee, Florida made they oddsmakers look foolish, covering the -7 spread with no trouble at all. Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin proved too much for the Vols, making our biggest Free NCAA Football pick of the week a success.

Likewise, the Crimson Tide laughed in the face of the -8.5 spread, as Alabama dominated Arkansas 49-14.

These two favorites provided us with some big covers earlier today, and we have another game pending in what could be a very profitable Saturday.

Florida is the Game of the Week Play

Another Saturday is upon us, which means it's time to throw on your jersey, sit down in your favorite chair, and watch college football all day long. Oh yeah, and don't forget your Gatorade on this particular Saturday, as you'll need it for our Game of the Week.

Florida -7 over Tennesee

Tim Tebow and the Gators should run away from the Vols, even on the road. The spread should be at least double what it is, so take advantage and get on this one fast!

Stay tuned for even more Free NCAA Picks, which were 3-2 last week and should improve this week--beginning with our Game of the Week.

Lemmy Awards: Top 5 Sports Message Boards

Ladies and gentlemen, it's the moment you've all been waiting for. That's right, it's time to give out a few Lemmy Awards! In our first installment, we rewarded the top five sports betting and stock blogs on the net with the Golden Lemmy. This time, we're giving out Lemmy Awards for the top five sports message boards on the web, particularly when it comes to NCAA football. UPDATE: These are only Rivals message boards.

This Texas sports message board has a football, basketball and other section. As they say, everything is bigger in Texas.

The best collegiate board Iowa has to offer includes the largest wrestling themed board on the web.

Florida State's board has a rare baseball section packed full of wise commenters.

Up in Michigan, there's never a dull moment on The Wolverine boards.

Not far behind Florida State, Florida's message board provides enough insight on Gator sports to earn a Lemmy Award.

Florida the Pick Tonight

We have another Free NCAA Basketball Pick today and it is a decent value.

Florida -3 over Alabama

Florida really has to make some noise in the conference tourney if they want to punch a ticket to the big dance, so they'll have to take care of Alabama tonight. If that's not enough reason to put some money on the Gators, consider that ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews went to Florida. Although that's an irrelevant fact to this game, she's hotter than our Free NBA Picks, so we'll throw a picture of her up anyways.

March Madness is fast approaching! Good luck!
