Syracuse Comeback Gives 2011 Free NCAA Football Picks a 1-0 Start

If tonight's pick of Syracuse at -6 1/2 over Wake Forest to open the 2011 college football season was any indication, we are in for a wild ride with our 2011 Free NCAA Football Picks.

'Cuse looked like one of the worst teams in the history of college football in the first half (and one of the worst bets in Stock Lemon history) before mounting a comeback and winning by seven in overtime.

And with that, our Free NCAA Football Picks have followed a 55% season with a 100% start in 2011. After a 9-1 2010-11 bowl season, we've now won 10 of our last 11 college football bets.

We likely will not have a play on either game tomorrow night, but should post our Saturday picks shortly thereafter. We usually have quite a few picks to open things up, though we are scared off by some of the bigger spreads (anyone who caught a bad beat on the backdoor UNLV cover tonight knows why).

Stay tuned for more of our %100 accurate Free NCAA Football Picks throughout the season! (Hey, we'll tout it while we can).

Welcome Back to College Football (55% in 2010)

The 2011 football season is finally upon us, beginning with a healthy slate of Thursday games in college football, which of course means the return of our Free NCAA Football Picks.

We have, so far, just one pick for Thursday night's opening action, and we assure you, this is not a basketball pick, despite the teams involved.

Syracuse -6 1/2 over Wake Forest

We could potentially add to that for Thursday and even Friday, but most assuredly, there will be several picks for the opening Saturday of the college football season. Stay with us all year for our absolute, 100% Free NCAA Football Picks every week.

Last year, our Free NCAA Football Picks finished at 55%, supported by a very strong 90% bowl season. In the beginning, though, there were plenty of ups and downs, as we endured three consecutive losing weeks early in the season.

We often struggle to start the college schedule, due to some of the wild double-digit spreads caused by unbalanced non-conference games. Conversely, our Free NFL Picks usually start off much better in the beginning of the season and then go about .500 the rest of the way.

We'll try to change both of those blemishes, of course, but consider this a disclaimer if you are tailing our picks (like you need any more of a disclaimer while following free picks from a sketchy blogspot site). All that said, our Free Picks have been pretty successful, with a 55% college season accompanying a 60% year in the NFL. Last year's results are below, for posterity's sake.

2010Free NCAA Football Picks

Wake Forest Saves Our Saturday

After a great start to the NCAA Football season, our Free NCAA Football Picks looked sluggish on Saturday, with only one cover in three games.

The win in our disappointing 1-2 day came via the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, who covered a -3 spread in a 24-17 victory over the Stanford Cardinal(s).

The losing Saturday evens our record to 3-3 on the year, back to 50%.

Back by popular demand, here is our week-by-week breadown.

Week 1: 2-1
Week 2: 1-2
Total: 3-3... 50%

The best thing we can do is forget about the week and hope to get back on track next week. We hope to see you back!

Ride Our 67% Free NCAA Football Picks!

If there's one thing we love about the beginning of a new season, it's that if we have a good first week, we can advertise our bloated percentage like the capping Gods that we are. Last week's 2-1 performance qualified as a good first week.

While 67% isn't too far fetched for some of our systems, our Free NCAA Football Picks were just 53% last season. Regardless, we're hoping for an even better week this time around to further inflate our winning percentage. Here are our Free NCAA Football Picks that we believe will help us do just that.

North Carolina -5 over Connecticut

Wake Forest -3 over Stanford

Army PICK over Duke

If you recall, we lost last Thursday before going 2-0 on Saturday, so we should be advertising our Free NCAA Football Picks as 100% on Saturdays. Hopefully we'll be able to next week.

Good luck!

2009 NFL Mock Draft: Picks 1-3

As promised, we'll be conducting our first ever full first round mock draft, beginning today. Given how much things change over the course of the pre-NFL Draft weeks, we don't advise you take any of these picks and bet on them.

When the NFL Draft rolls around, we'll offer some insight on who might go where and what odds are worth taking, but for now, this is merely for the fun and entertainment of it.

So, without further ado, here are the first two picks of our 2009 NFL Mock Draft.

1. Detroit Lions: Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia

While there are questions as to whether or not Stafford is worthy of the No. 1 overall pick, the strong-armed kid can do some good in Detroit. Taking one of the premiere tackles might make more sense here, but we think the Lions will go for a new face of the franchise in Stafford. If anyone needs a new face of the franchise, it's the 0-16 Lions.

2. St. Louis Rams: Jason Smith, T, Baylor

The main beneficiary of Detroit's decision to go with Stafford is the Rams, who are picking second for the second year in-a-row. With a need at left tackle, Jason Smith can step right in and fill the void. There are a number of other solid tackle prospects out there, but Jason Smith will likely be the first off the board.

3. Kansas City Chiefs: Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest

In our opinion, Curry is the best player in the draft and the absolute safest pick. Curry, along with any of the top three offensive tackles, should be around ten years from now still dominating at his position.

We'll have picks 4-6 for you most likely tomorrow, so make sure to check back and continue to do so as we unveil the rest of our first ever full NFL Mock Draft.

Three Free NCAA Football Plays This Weekend

We have a big slate of Free NCAA Football plays for this weekend. Here are our first three picks, with two more bigger plays to come.

Miami -7 over North Carolina

Wisconsin -5 1/2 over Michigan

Wake Forest -15 1/2 over Navy

Our Free NCAA Football Picks are 9-7 on the season so far, and we certainly hope to improve upon that Saturday.

Good luck!
