Free MLB Pick Saturday

As we hinted at, we do indeed have another Free MLB Pick, today. Unfortunately, it doesn't involve the Braves, but we like it anyway.

Cubs -105 over the Reds

Our picks are hitting 75% so far early in the year, so let's keep it going!

Time For a Free MLB Pick

There actually aren't very many MLB games today, yet we have our third Free MLB Pick this season.

The Picks are 1-1 so far after we bet the Cubs runline and they won... by one.

Jerks.

Anyway, we have a moneyline pick today since the juice is so low.

Florida Marlins -125 over the Pirates

Good luck!

Our Free MLB Picks Are Undefeated!

Our Free MLB Picks are 1-0 to start the young season, and we're looking to build off what is now a 7-2 record in our last nine games.

Cubs -1 1/2 over the Brewers

Carlos Zambrano makes a habit out of feasting on the Brewers (no earned runs in two games in Milwaukee last season), and he should help the Cubs avenge a walk off loss last night.

Good luck!

Some MLB Futures to Ponder

We were looking at some MLB Futures today and saw a couple of frontrunners at decent value.

As many of you know, since Jenn Sterger became a fan of our Stock Lemon Facebook page, we try tie her in to anything and everything that we do that can even remotely be traced to her, hence the picture of her wearing a Cubs hat.

This, of course, ties in to this particular post because we really see value in the Cubs odds to win the NL Central. 1/2 odds don't seem like a great value now, but come July you'll be glad you got on the Cubs when you did.

With the Brewers (11/2) likely to fall from the high brought on by last year's Wild Card appearance, we see the Cardinals (3/1) as the only real threat for the NL Central crown. In the end, the Cubs are just too good to let either of these teams take the division. We're not saying they'll win it all this year, in fact we'd strongly persuade you not to make a bet that crazy, but the division should be all theirs.

Meanwhile, the AL East appeals to us as well. The division boasts the three headed monster that is the Red Sox (7/5), Rays (5/1), and Yankees (6/5). After being the odd team out last year, the Yankees made some major free agent upgrades--and for once spent their money wisely. We like the Yankees to get back to the playoffs via the division crown.

We don't have a system to support us in these predictions, just, we think, a little common sense.

Playing a Heavy Pair of Aces

We have two picks for today's MLB post-season action, and the total weight of the starting pitchers for our two winners is well over 600 pounds.

Speaking of pounds, we hope to make some of them for a few of Lemmy's new European friends. Check out the Lemmy's Friends section on the right-side of the page, which includes international punters from England and Italy, among other countries. For the rest of you, we hope to make you some dollars, as always.

On to the Free MLB Picks for today...

CC Sabathia and the Brewers ML -128 over the Phillies

Carlos Zambrano and the Cubs ML -158 over the Dodgers

Yesterday was a rough one for the NL Central, as both of these two teams fell in their respective series openers. We like the Cubs to rebound at home, and CC Sabathia to continue to carry the Brewers.

Hopefully, our winnings today will be as huge as these two starting pitchers.

Good luck!

We're Ready For the MLB Playoffs

Now that we're one game away from knowing all eight postseason participants, here's a quick look at the match-ups, with our early prediction highlighted in yellow.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs

Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

Somebody vs. Tampa Bay Rays

Of course, once the actual playoffs start, we'll take our 63% record and bring back the Free MLB Picks all the way through the World Series.

Cubs Win!

Thanks to an early two-run homer by Derek Lee, the Cubs took care of the Dodgers today, 3-1. As expected, Ryan Dempster pitched well, so the Cubbies didn't need the offense to dominate as it has all year. The Cubs win means another win for our Free MLB Picks, which, after a slow start, are now at 9-9 on the year.

That record doesn't do justice to how hot the picks have been lately though, as they are now 5-1 in the last six. Did we mention they had a slow start?

Regardless, the picks are clearly heating up, and this last stretch has been more like what we've grown accustomed to with this system.

Cubs are the Memorial Day Pick

We have some afternoon baseball for you tomorrow with a Memorial Day edition of our Free MLB Picks.

Chicago Cubs -130 over the Los Angeles Dodgers

We're laying a little bit of chalk on the Cubs at home, but Ryan Dempster has been pitching well enough to justify doing so.

Our Free MLB Picks are 4-1 in the last five, so sit back, relax, and enjoy some baseball on Memorial Day.

Good luck!

Cubs Make it Four Straight in MLB!

Our Free MLB Picks started slow, and as always, we told you to hang in there and wait for the inevitable hot streak.

Ladies and gentlemen, we give you your hot streak.

The Cubs knocked off the Astros 7-2 yesterday, giving us a four-game win streak as well as finally getting our Free MLB Picks back to .500 at 8-8.

As we've said countless times, it usually takes until about mid-May for these picks to really start getting into a groove, and that's exactly what's happening.

MLB Tonight, NBA Futures

Despite the deciding game seven of the Hornets and Spurs being played tonight, we do not have a play on this game that fits our system. We do, however, have one MLB play for tonight.

Chicago Cubs -1 1/2 (+125) over the Houston Astros

Lance Berkman and the Astros are hot, but Alfonso Soriano and the Cubs are hotter. Our Free MLB Picks went 3-0 on Saturday, and we expect to add another win to our record.

In addition to the MLB play tonight, we have some NBA Future Bets on the Pistons/Celtics Eastern Conference Finals. These are not Free NBA Picks, but are plays we are making nonetheless. They are:

Pistons to win the Series (+115 at Bodog)

Will the Celtics Win a Road Game in this Series? NO (+165 at Bodog)

So there you have them. We like the Pistons to advance the NBA Finals and the Celtics road woes to continue.

For tonight, though, just the Cubs to beat up on the Stros. Good luck!
UPDATE: We took the Pistons in the series at +115 odds.

Brewers Win!

It wasn't the low-scoring game we expected with Ben Sheets back on the mound, but we'll take it. The Brewers took care of the Cubs 10-7 tonight, giving us a much needed Free MLB Pick win.

Our system hasn't produced at the levels we're used to, but we're continually updating the statistics and it looks like we are finally getting on track for the 2008 season. The Brewers win gives us a record of just 3-4, which only means that we're due for a nice long winning streak.

Take Sheets and the Brewers

Ben Sheets is back on the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers against the rival Chicago Cubs, and we expect more of the same from the Brewers ace. In addition to having Sheets back, the Brewers will also get a spark from the return of center fielder Mike Cameron, who has missed the first 25 games of the year due to a suspension.

Brewers ML (-118) over the Cubs

Good luck!

Pirates Are the Play Today

We haven't had as many Free MLB Picks as we would like, but we are being very picky with our system this year to ensure maximum results, especially after starting just 2-2 on the year. With that in mind, we have a money line play tonight.

Pittsburgh Pirates ML (+118) over the Chicago Cubs

We like this spot for Pittsburgh and hope to cash in on some positive odds.

Good luck!
