Where Will LeBron James Land in Free Agency?

The biggest free agent period in the history of the NBA is underway, so what are the odds that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh or one of the other big free agent names lands with your favorite team?

Well, as a matter of fact, if LeBron James is your target, here are the odds that he lands in Chicago, Cleveland, Miami, New York or New Jersey:

Bulls
+300 (or 3 to 1)

Cavaliers
-200 (or 1 to 2)

Heat
+450 (or 9 to 2)

Knicks
+500 (or 5 to 1)

Nets
+700 (or 7 to 1)

Our guess? We like those +700 odds for New Jersey (soon to be Newark soon to be Brooklyn). It's close enough to the big city of New York and the life that comes with it, but more importantly, billionaire Russian owner Mikhail Prokhorov offers LeBron his best shot at becoming a global icon. That, and it's +700! Considering that nobody really knows what LBJ is thinking, why not go big or go home on this one?

One thing is for sure, it should be an interesting weekend!

2009 NBA Mock Draft: Picks 11-12

The 2009 NBA Draft begins Thursday, but our 2009 NBA Mock Draft is in full force and nearing the finish line. We have two more installments remaining as we continue to mock the lottery picks, so you'll have plenty of time to digest the picks today and tomorrow before the real deal on Thursday.

11. Nets: Earl Clark, G/F, Louisville

Welcome to the freak athlete portion of our mock draft, starring Earl Clark. The Nets are looking for some youth at the shooting guard or small forward position, and Clark is a great athlete with an explosive first step. His size and energy will be very valuable to the Nets, but he needs to find more consistency with his shot and improve on his ability to beat defenders on the perimeter. Regardless, Clark should be able to come in and contribute immediately.

12. Bobcats: Gerald Henderson, G/F, Duke

The other half of our freak athlete edition, Mr. Henderson, can bring a lot of explosiveness to the Bobcats. He doesn't have ideal size for either the shooting guard or small forward position really, but he has more natural ability than many of the twos and threes currently in the league. Henderson can absolutely fly through the air, and the Bobcats would love to take advantage of his great leaping ability. While it's not certain he'll fall to pick No. 12, you can bet that the Bobcats are hoping that he does.

Stay tuned for the final two picks of our 2009 NBA Mock Draft tomorrow. Until then, be sure to check out the previous picks located in the upper right hand corner of our blog.

An NBA Over For Tonight

Once again, it's been a slow start to the NBA this year for a lot of cappers, and that's been true so far with our Free NBA Picks. Still, there's one pick tonight as we keep plugging away.

New Jersey Nets/Washington Wizars OVER 206

And no, that's not a typo. There is no D in Wizards, at least on the court.

Good luck and let's get back on track.

Cavs Come Through... Again

Once again, we took the Cavs at -6. Once again, they covered and won easily. Maybe we should stick to Cleveland.

The Cavs beat the Nets 106-82, giving us what looks to be, unfortunately, a 1-1 night. Hopefully our posting this at halftime of the Lakers/Bulls game will put some kind of jinx on the teams and they'll stop scoring and hit the under, which isn't even close at the moment.

We're going to enjoy this time, since for about an hour and a half longer, we're looking at a perfect 1-0 night.

Cavs Are a Free NBA Pick... Again

Though we've had just four Free NBA Picks so far, we've twice bet on the Cleveland Cavaliers (once in an over and once against the spread). We won the last time we bet on Cleveland at -6, so why not do it once more?

Cavaliers -6 over the Nets

Additionally, we have a total for tonight.

Bulls/Lakers UNDER 202

The reason for the under is that the last five times the Bulls over/under was listed as 190 or above, they've gone under. All three times they've gone under when it's been set at 200 or above. If that's not enough, the last nine times the Bulls and Lakers have met, they've gone under. Our system generally churns out more sides than totals, and if we were to choose one of these picks it would be the Cavs, but we're still putting the same amount of units on each--as we do with all our plays.

Good luck!

Top Two NBA Off-Season Moves

Last year our Free NBA Picks went 40-20, which is an impressive 67%. We must admit, that didn't happen by accident.

Our Free NBA Picks system is a complicated formula which ranks teams offensive and defensive performances and determines which spreads have the most value. But as much attention as we pay to the NBA regular season, we pay even more to the off-season. During this time, we get a real solid idea of which teams might surprise the league (and the bookies) in the upcoming season.

That said, here are our two biggest off-season moves that could turn teams around in the NBA.

1. Bucks steal Richard Jefferson from Nets

By getting rid of a bad contract (Bobby Simmons) and arguably a bad player (Yi Jianlian) and adding one of the top small forwards in the game, the Bucks have improved drastically and should be a force to reckon with in the weak Eastern Conference. Despite the addition, they are still likely to fly under the radar due to a horrible 2007-08 season, so there should be plenty of opportunities to win some bucks on the Bucks.

2. Artest the missing piece in Houston

Houston, we have a problem-child. But we also have an extremely talented player. The Kings were nearly forced to part ways with Artest, and the Rockets made a great low-risk, high-reward investment. With the addition of Artest, the Rockets have a big three comparable to the NBA champion Boston Celtics. Artest and Tracy McGrady, along with a healthy Yao Ming, should compete for a spot in the NBA Finals.

Clemson and the Nets Both Win Outright

We bet on two underdogs tonight against the spread, and they both went ahead and won outright, giving us a 2-0 day. This perfect day follows yesterdays perfect 3-0, making us 5-0 overall in the last two days.

In our Free NCAA Basketball Pick, Clemson knocked off Duke 78-74, giving us back-to-back wins in NCAA Basketaball. Since our last tweaking of the NCAA Basketball system, we've won three of four.

As for our Free NBA Pick, the Nets took care of the Jazz on their home floor 117-115, giving us our third straight win in the NBA. Overall, the Free NBA Picks are now 30-11, which is over 73%. In the last 18 games, our Free NBA Picks are an even more amazing 16-2.

Everything is running smoothly here at Stock Lemon, so hopefully you're along for the ride and making some cash along the way.

NBA and NCAA Basketball Picks Today

We've got two underdogs today, one in the NBA and one in NCAA Basketball.

Our Free NBA Pick (29-11, 73%) today is the New Jersey Nets +5 over the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz are playing their fourth game in five days, and the Nets play well at home. We'll take the Nets and the points.

Our Free NCAA Basketball Pick is Clemson +4 1/2 over Duke.

Good luck!

Cavs Go For Six Straight

In addition to two Free NCAA Basketball picks, we have a Free NBA Pick tonight as well, for a total of three plays.

Cleveland Cavaliers -5 over the New Jersey Nets

The Nets have lost six in a row, while our Free NBA Picks have won five in a row. We like our odds. LeBron James should go off on the Nets in this one, with Bostjan Nachbar and the Nets simply watching The King work his magic.

While our Free NCAA Basketball Picks aren't quite where we want them to be, our Free NBA Picks have been on fire. Here are the numbers on our NBA picks again just for re-assurance.

Overall Record: 27-10
Winning Percentage: 73%
Last 14 Games: 13-1
Last 14 Games Winning Percentage: 93%
Current Streak: W5

Good luck!

Raptors Cover Easily

Chris Bosh and the Raptors easily handled Vince Carter's Nets tonight, covering the -8 spread with a 109-91 victory. The Raptors triumph means yet another win for our Free NBA Picks, which are 16-9 in the last 25 games for a very solid 64% hit rate.

Even though the Raptors won by 18, it could have been much, much more if they didn't rest their key players with the game already sealed in the fourth quarter.

This turned out to be an easy win partly because the Raptors are better than the Nets and we knew it, but also partly because of Jason Kidd being traded--or at least thinking that he would be traded--to the Mavericks. As it turns out, he's not headed to Dallas just yet, but the teams were so close to striking a deal that the Nets didn't play their star point guard in this one.

Stay with us througout the week for more possible NBA plays , including bets on the NBA All-Star Game.

Raptors are the Free NBA Pick Tonight

Our Free NBA Picks are hitting about 63%, and we hope to continue our good fortune tonight with yet another play.

Toronto Raptors -8 over the New Jersey Nets

This line has great value all the way up to -10 for Chris Bosh and the Raptors, who look to shut down former Raptor Vince Carter tonight. Good luck!

Gasol Debut Calls For Bonus NBA Prop Bets

With Pau Gasol now wearing purple, we like our odds at winning some green with a few bonus NBA Prop Bets for tonight's game between the Lakers and the Nets.

It'll be the first game as a Laker for the Spaniard, and we expect him and Kobe Bryant to light up the Nets. The Lakers will be jacked up after acquiring Gasol from the Grizzlies, and will likely jump out to an early lead and keep it. We're not betting on the actual game, but we like the Lakers to be the first to 10 points and then to 20 points as well. The odds for the props are -150 and -165, respectively, at Bodog.

And for our readers from the great country of Spain, keep checking back! With Gasol on the Lakers, this team will be hard to stop!

Good luck with the bonus bets!

Nuggets Cover For 3-1 Day

The Nuggets knocked off the Nets by 15, covering the eight point spread and getting our system plays back on track with a 3-1 day. Expect a few more plays this weekend.

Four Free NBA Picks Today

It's rare to have more than one free nba pick, but today we have a grand total of four! The computer likes the heavy favorites today. Here are the picks:

Washington Wizards -8 over Memphis Grizzlies

Toronto Raptors -9 1/2 over Milwaukee Bucks

Boston Celtics -13 over Minnesota Timberwolves

Denver Nuggets -8 over New Jersey Nets

Good luck!
