NFL and NCAA Football Picks Records Update

We had plenty of gridiron success this weekend, and in weeks like this, we love updating the weekly records. They are as follows:

Free NCAA Football Picks
Week 1: 2-1
Week 2: 1-2
Week 3: 3-1
Week 4: 3-1
Total: 9-5... 64%

Free NFL Picks
Week 1: 4-5
Week 2: 1-1
Week 3: 3-1
Total: 8-7... 53%

It's good to get our first winning week in the NFL, and obviously our first weekend of success in both college and the pros. We'll take this 6-2 (75%) week as a sign that both of these picks are where we want them to be at this point in the season.

Keep checking back for more successful picks here at Stock Lemon!

3-1 Week For Free NFL Picks As Well!

In addition to our Free NCAA Football Picks going 3-1 this weekend, our Free NFL Picks did the same.

The Bears covered a -3 spread with 25-19 win over Seahawks; the Bills and Saints went under 51 1/2 points in a 27-7 Saints victory; and the Colts stomped the Cardinals and a ridiculous +2 1/2 spread in a 31-10 Sunday night win.

We'll get to our weekly breakdown and record update momentarily.

Another 3-1 Week For Free NCAA Football Picks

Last week, our Free NCAA Football Picks went 3-1 and improved to 60% on the year. This week, they went 3-1 again, improving to 64%.

After winning both afternoon games, we won with Arizona State covering a +13 spread in a 20-17 loss to Georgia. Although our bonus game lost, we finished another great week in college pigskin.

We'll get to our weekly breakdown in just a bit. Be sure to stay with us all year as we continue to pick football winners.

Good Start For Free NCAA Football Picks

Two down, two to go for our Free NCAA Football Picks.

Our afternoon games both covered--and then some--and we're looking forward to the night games tonight.

Oregon crushed California, 42-3, to cover a +6 spread by a mile. Then, Virginia Tech pounded Miami and the +3 spread, 31-7.

So, total, we covered by 72 points in our two afternoon games. We told you the dogs were barking.

Our Free NCAA Football Picks are now 8-4 (67%) on the season.

As always, stay tuned for more winners!

Free NFL Picks Look For Winning Week

After two weeks, our Free NFL Picks are a disappointing 5-6, but we expect better results moving forward when more current stats become available (rather than using a combination of last year's stats).

In Week One, we had a crazy nine-pick card, only to follow that with just two picks in Week Two. In Week Three, we have more of a standard Stock Lemon card in terms of quantity and hopefully quality.

Titans +3 over the Jets

Bears -3 over the Seahawks

Colts +2 1/2 over the Cardinals

Bills/Saints UNDER 51 1/2

Three road teams and an under this week. Not in love with the fact that all of our picks are on the road, but we'll play what the system gives us, especially early on.

Good luck!

Bonus Free NCAA Football Pick Tonight

In addition to our three dogs, we have on favorite later tonight.

Penn State -9 1/2 over Iowa

Good luck!

Dog Day Afternoon For Free NCAA Football Picks

We have a few more of our 60% Free NCAA Football Picks for you this week:

Oregon +6 over California

Virginia Tech +3 over Miami

Arizona State +13 over Georgia

The dogs are barking this week (especially at home).

Good luck!

1-1 Split For Free NFL Picks

With only two Free NFL Picks this week, it was either win them both or have a disappointing day.

We had a disappointing day.

Only the 49ers were able to cover with a 23-10 victory over the Seahawks, taking care of the -1 spread. The 1-1 week means our Free NFL Picks are still under .500 at 5-6.

Here's the breakdown:

Week 1: 4-5
Week 2: 1-1
Total: 5-6

Week Two Free NFL Picks Are In

Another Sunday is upon us!

It won't be as eventful as last week when we had nine games total (eight on Sunday), as we have just two Free NFL Picks for this week.

Carolina Panthers +6 over the Atlanta Falcons

San Francisco 49ers -1 over the Seattle Seahawks

Our picks went just 4-5 in a busy Week 1, but we expect two winners here.

Good luck!

Free NCAA Football Picks Go 3-1

Now that's more like it.

After two weeks, our Free NCAA Football Picks came in at .500 with a 3-3 record. This week, we went 3-1 and improved our record to the gambling benchmark of 60%.

Washington's shocking 16-13 win over USC wasn't all that shocking to us, after our system picked them +20. When Florida and Tennessee stayed well under the 53 point o/u, we had ourselves a 2-0 afternoon.

Mississippi State gave us our third win of the day with a 15-3 win over Vanderbilt, our second underdog of the day to win outright (at +9).

It's easy to second guess picks with the benefit of hindsight, but we enjoy the days when the only thing we second guess is that we didn't bet moneylines.

Stay with us all season for more winning college football picks. We leave you with our weekly breakdown:

Week 1: 2-1
Week 2: 1-2
Week 3: 3-1
Total: 6-4... 60%

Friday, September 18, 2009

Week Three Free NCAA Football Picks

Our Free NCAA Football Picks are an even 3-3 on the year, but we're hoping to get back above .500 with a our biggest card of the year--four plays--tomorrow. They are:

Florida/Tennessee UNDER 53

Washington +20 over USC

Arkansas -2 over Georgia

Mississippi State +9 over Vanderbilt

Good luck!

Free NFL Picks Pick Up Steam

We had mixed results in week one of the NFL season, eventually finishing a record nine-game card with a losing 4-5 record.

The volume of picks will likely be reduced as we become even more selective with a usually picky Free NFL Picks system, so don't expect to have such a crazy Sunday every week.

After an 0-1 start on Thursay, our Free NFL Picks wound up 4-4 on Sunday for an unspectacular 4-5 week.

The Packers 21-15 win over the Bears on Sunday night salvaged our day with a -3 1/2 spread. Prior to the nightcap, the Vikings crushed the -4 1/2 spread and the Browns with a 34-20 win; the Cowboys covered a -6 spread in a 34-21 victory over the Buccaneeers; and the Broncos, who already had a +4 1/2 cover secured, went on to a miraculous 12-7 triumph over the Bengals.

In all, we had a good end to a shaky weekend, but we look forward to a winning week two.

Wake Forest Saves Our Saturday

After a great start to the NCAA Football season, our Free NCAA Football Picks looked sluggish on Saturday, with only one cover in three games.

The win in our disappointing 1-2 day came via the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, who covered a -3 spread in a 24-17 victory over the Stanford Cardinal(s).

The losing Saturday evens our record to 3-3 on the year, back to 50%.

Back by popular demand, here is our week-by-week breadown.

Week 1: 2-1
Week 2: 1-2
Total: 3-3... 50%

The best thing we can do is forget about the week and hope to get back on track next week. We hope to see you back!

Week One Free NFL Picks: Part Two

Maybe it's because it's week one and we're playing some games that we wouldn't if we weren't so jacked up about the start of another NFL season, or maybe these games are just as easy as they appear. Either way, we're just following our Free NFL Picks system that went 58% last year and are hoping for better results this year.

In addition to the four picks in Part One and one on Thursday, we have four more picks--nine total! In all, we're playing eight of the 16 games this week, a Stock Lemon record. We'll find out if that's a good or bad thing on Sunday.

Vikings -4 1/2 over the Browns

Colts -7 over the Jaguars

Cowboys -6 over the Buccaneers

Packers -3 1/2 over the Bears

Good luck and enjoy the first Sunday of the NFL season!

Week One Free NFL Picks: Part One

We promised a huge Free NFL Pick lineup this week, so huge that we had to split it up into two parts. Well, no we didn't, but we will anyway.

Panthers +3 over the Eagles

Panthers/Eagles UNDER 43 1/2

Texans -4 1/2 over the Jets

Broncos +4 1/2 over the Bengals

Part Two is forthcoming. Stay tuned.

Ride Our 67% Free NCAA Football Picks!

If there's one thing we love about the beginning of a new season, it's that if we have a good first week, we can advertise our bloated percentage like the capping Gods that we are. Last week's 2-1 performance qualified as a good first week.

While 67% isn't too far fetched for some of our systems, our Free NCAA Football Picks were just 53% last season. Regardless, we're hoping for an even better week this time around to further inflate our winning percentage. Here are our Free NCAA Football Picks that we believe will help us do just that.

North Carolina -5 over Connecticut

Wake Forest -3 over Stanford

Army PICK over Duke

If you recall, we lost last Thursday before going 2-0 on Saturday, so we should be advertising our Free NCAA Football Picks as 100% on Saturdays. Hopefully we'll be able to next week.

Good luck!

The Debut of Dancing Money Man

Instead of suffering through the NFL pregame coverage on NBC, we thought we'd post some alternative entertainment to get you through to the Titans and Steelers kickoff.

So, without further delay, we introduce to you a gambling message board legend, the Dancing Money Man!

Whenever you see this guy, it can only mean good things, and certainly the opening kickoff of the NFL qualifies as a good thing.

Once again, good luck tonight and for the entire 2009 season.

Possibly Huge Sunday Card Coming Up

Last year, we routinely churned out about three or four Free NFL Picks a week en route to a 58% season. In Week 1, we had one of our biggets weeks in terms of volume with five picks.

This year, with the same system, the plan was the same. At the moment, however, there are seven possible Free NFL Picks for Sunday, plus the pick we already have tonight.

If you're scoring at home, that's eight total picks, double the norm from last year. We're just not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

While we usually try to weed out some of the borderline plays, we're not sure that we will be eliminating any of the remaining seven picks. So, you've been warned. Be prepared for the biggest NFL card in Stock Lemon history.

And as a reminder, that card opens up tonight, with the Steelers -6 over the Titans.

Enjoy the beginning of another NFL season, and be sure to check back for our Sunday plays, which will be posted as early as tomorrow.

The Glorious Return of Our Free NFL Picks

It's been a long, looooong offseason, but the NFL is finally back tomorrow, kicking off with the Steelers and Titans.

And, of course, we can't resist betting on it.

The defending Super Bowl champions are six-point favorites against Tennessee tomorrow and show good value in our Free NFL Picks system. James Harrison, shown above riding in the Steelers victory parade, should help the Steelers ride their top defense to victory in the opener.

Last year, our Free NFL Picks had a pretty strong season at 31-22-2 (58%), but we can do better. The 60% mark is always our benchmark, and we're usually at or above it with most of our systems. We're looking forward to reaching that goal--and going much, much further in what could prove to be our most profitable year of football betting ever.

Make sure to check back every weekend for our Free NFL Picks, as well as our Free NCAA Football Picks (off to a 67% start). Both finishing with winning records in 2008, but we want much more than that in '09.

Again, our First Free NFL pick of the 2009 season is:

Steelers -6 over Titans

Good luck and welcome back to football season! We hope you'll come back week after week for more picks. We'll give you good reason to.

Free NCAA Football Picks Go 2-0 On Saturday

The first Saturday of the 2009 college football season went according to plan for our Free NCAA Football Picks, going 2-0 yesterday as Buffalo upset UTEP 23-17.

The Bulls victory easily covered the spread of +10 and helped us to our first of many (we hope) undefeated Saturdays.

The Buffalo cover came hours after we earned our first win of the season with Oklahoma State's defeat of Georgia.

Unfortunately, thanks to a loss on Thursday, our Free NCAA Football Picks already have a blemish this year. But we don't mind a 2-1 (67%) start to the season.

OK State Gives Us First NCAA Football Win

With a 24-10 win over Georgia, the Cowboys of Oklahoma State have given us our first Free NCAA Football Pick win of the 2009 season, covering a -5 spread.

We have on more pick pending today in our quest for another winning season of college football.

Last year, our Free NCAA Football Picks went 33-29-1 (53%). While that's nothing to write home about, a winning season is a winning season, and we hope to be back around 60% this year.

College Football Saturday is Here!

We jumped the gun on our Free NCAA Football Picks and got burned on Thursday, but we're back with two plays on the first Saturday of the NCAA Football season.

Oklahoma State -5 over Georgia

Buffalo +10 over UTEP

Good luck!

Free NCAA Football Picks Return!

After another long summer here at Stock Lemon, we are back with our first Free NCAA Football Pick of the 2009 season!

Last year, our Free NCAA Football Picks finished 33-29-1 (53%). Not great, but not all that terrible.

This year, we are obviously hoping to improve upon that percentage, and it all starts tonight with our first pick.

Troy -7 over Bowling Green

We like the Trojans tonight and will probably have a couple more picks this weekend, so stay tuned.

The following week, the 2009 NFL season kicks off with a full slate of regular season action. We'll be sure to post our Free NFL Picks sometime next week.

You can bet on it.
