A Perfect 8-0 Football Weekend

And that's what we were waiting for.

After a perfect 5-0 Saturday for our Free NCAA Football Picks, we went 3-0 with a small Free NFL Picks card to give us a perfect 8-0 week of football.

We didn't have as much time as we would have liked as far as the aesthetics of this blog are concerned, so you didn't get your usual picture of a scantily-clad girl and the picks came a little later than normal. But still, they came and they delivered.

Our Free NCAA Football Picks continue to stay hot, with their fourth straight winning week (five wins each week). Meanwhile, our Free NFL Picks still have not had a losing week, and finally got off the .500 kick. We wish we had more plays this week, as there were a few others we liked but didn't quite fit, but we'll take our three wins and hopefully have a larger card next week after two straight small ones.

As always, a winning week like this is a good time to remind you that WE DO ACCEPT DONATIONS VIA THE PAYPAL ICON ON THE LEFT!!!!!!!!! Either way, we're glad you could join us in this perfect week, and while we know that we can't do it every week, we'll certainly continue trying. Our records update follows:

Free NFL Picks
Week 1: 5-1
Week 2: 6-1
Week 3: 4-4

So Far, Just Three Free NFL Picks This Week

We wanted an odd number of Free NFL Picks this week, thus avoiding yet another week in which we go .500, but we didn't expect only three picks to show true value. We might be adding a later game but have yet to decide. For now, here are your three Free NFL Picks.

Dolphins -1 over Bengals

Packers +6 1/2 over Jets

Chargers -5 over Titans

Stay tuned and good luck.

Quickly Getting in Our Free NCAA Football Picks

Not a whole lot of action on this spooky Saturday, but let's get right to it:

Stanford -7 1/2 over Washington

Auburn/Ole Miss OVER 61

Nebraska -7 1/2 over Missouri

Wake Forest/Maryland OVER 52

Oklahoma -24 over Colorado

Good luck!

A Free UFL Pick We Love

We told you earlier this week that we would probably have a play on the UFL game tonight. We expected to lay 8-10 points on Omaha at home against a quarterback-less Las Vegas team. We only have to lay four.

Usually, this means it's a giant trap. But we know as much about the UFL as the next guy, and the Omaha Nighthawks will win this game by four points or more. Unless they don't. But we're going to bet that they do.

Omaha Nighthawks -4 over the Las Vegas Locomotives

The game is on Versus, so you can actually watch your UFL bet on TV. Unless you can't.

Your Stock Lemon Endorsed World Series Champion: San Francisco Giants

Somewhere along the lines, we lost faith in our Free MLB Pick system. Once football crept up, we completely abandoned the thing. But make no mistake, just because we haven't been betting on games doesn't mean we haven't been watching. At least enough to give our World Series prediction.

There is money to be made in this series, as there has been all playoffs, on the San Francisco Giants. This scrappy young team is built to win and should edge the Texas Rangers in the least-watched World Series in television history.

Our official World Series wager:

San Francisco Giants +120 over the Texas Rangers

And why wait for the future bet on who will win the World Series. You can get similar odds on Game 1:

Giants +112 over the Rangers

Whether you chose to follow the baseball picks of a site that hasn't bet consistently on the sport all year is up to you. But don't say we didn't give you any MLB winners.

Next Week, We're Betting An Odd Number of NFL Games

Once again, our Free NFL Picks didn't have a losing week.

Once again, our Free NFL Picks didn't have a winning week.

If this sports betting champ review tells us anything, it's that no matter where we bet, we were .500 again.

We felt good about our small four-play card coming in, and ended up with a 2-2 card going out. So, yes, again, our Free NFL Picks managed to go .500. This is just getting freaky at this point.

The Falcons and Redskins came through for us this week, and if you're wondering why we consistently bet on those two teams, the answer is as simple as their fans being hotter than a lot of other teams. Sorry, Detroit.

Free NCAA Football Picks Heating Up (65% Last Three Weeks)

After a bit of a rough stretch, our Free NCAA Football Picks are 15-8 (65%) in the last three weeks after another 5-3 Saturday, inching their way back on track. Now would be a good time to use a $125 Sports Interaction Bonus Code from Doc's Sports.

It wasn't the previously unbeaten totals (1-2) but rather the sides (4-1) that helped us yesterday, putting our 2010 college record at 39-35-1 (53%).

We're debating a Monday Night play in the NFL, otherwise it might be another .500 week despite our very small four-play card. We'll wait to decide on that final play later, but for now, at least our Free NCAA Football Picks have churned out three winning weeks in a row, thanks to Hawaii and others.

Week 7 Free NFL Picks (63% YTD)

Our Free NFL Picks are still yet to have a losing week, but they haven't exactly had many winning weeks as of late, continually turning in .500 weeks after a hot start. Now would be a good time to use a $250 Betus bonus code and get in on the action.

Is this the week that we get back to our winning ways? As always, we're willing to bet that it is. For now, we have only four picks for Sunday's action, but could be adding one or two later tonight or early tomorrow. Otherwise, we'll make due with the following small card:

Steelers -3 over the Dolphins

Falcons -3 1/2 over the Bengals

Eagles +3 over the Titans

Redskins +3 over the Bears

Best of luck, and to review:

How About a Free UFC Pick?

We didn't have a Free UFL Pick as promised, but how about the UFC?

Both the UFL and tonight's UFC fight involve former NFL camp bodies. So why not?

And we're not about to bet against the former Minnesota Viking, who also happens to be a freak of a human being.

Brock Lesnar -175 over Cain Velasquez

Since the NFL is pretending to try and make their games less violent, we need a little more blood in our lives. Speaking of the NFL, our Free NFL Picks will be posted shortly.

Enjoy the fight!

No Free UFL Pick After All

We were really excited to whip out our second Free UFL Pick of the year, but alas, it is not to be this week.

Week 7 features a game against the now Tim Rattay-less Las Vegas Locomotives (and yes, that is a bad thing) going to Omaha to face the Jeff Garcia and the Nighthawks. Depending on how Vegas fares today with their new quarterback, the line should heavily favor the Nighthawks coming off a bye as opposed to the injury-riddled and short-rested Locos.

We'll keep you posted, but given that we don't think Omaha loses a home game especially in this spot, we should have our second Free UFL Pick of the year on Thursday.

Hoping to Score With Week 8 Free NCAA Football Picks

Like those who have used a 5 dimes bonus code, you still have to play to win. In order to win games, you have to score, something our Auburn girl pictured above surely has no problem with. And this week, we're putting our 3-0 totals to the test with three more--all overs. Yeah, let's get some scoring. The totals are:

LSU/Auburn OVER 52

North Carolina/Miami OVER 48

Oklahoma/Missouri OVER 53

And the sides, which are also beginning to resurface as part of our 10-5 Last 15 (embarrassing that we have to brag about that, but obviously the college picks have had their moments).

Clemson -5 over Georgia Tech

East Carolina -12 1/2 over Marshall

Oklahoma -3 over Missouri

Hawaii -3 over Utah State

Nebraska -6 over Oklahoma State

With our slate set for tomorrow's Free NCAA Football Picks, let's review the records and hope that they look a lot better after these eight plays tomorrow.

On This Edition of The Lemmy Channel...

As we mentioned earlier this week, The Lemmy Channel is back, but with a few changes. First off, for those of you that couldn't care less about the Wisconsin sports teams that we talk about to appeal to The Bucky Channel's audience, we won't be providing much more than a link to our analysis. Secondly, rather than sending the "episodes" to The Bucky Channel via e-mail, we are posting them to their site ourselves as a part of their expanded 2.0 staff.

So, if you want to find out what a naked picture of Don Draper's new fiance has to do with this week's Lemmy Channel (not much), or you want to read a little analysis on the Mad Men in the Packers/Vikings game on Sunday night, check out The Lemmy Channel over at The Bucky Channel.

Free NFL Picks Slowly Coming Back Down to Earth (63% YTD)

Well, we still haven't had a losing week with our Free NFL Picks, and we were a hook away (1/2 point) from at least salvaging a winning week, but for the third time in four tries, we went .500 for the week. Needless to say, if you used a $100 Sportsbook.com promo code, you have the exact same amount minus some juice after tailing us.

Obviously, it's disappointing, especially after the hot start these picks had. There was a lot of promise with that start--and there still is--but it's been a frustrating few weeks.

Hopefully we can get back on track next weekend with some more profits.

For now, we leave you with some eye candy after the Titans covered by 27 points last night over the terrible Jaguars. Because you can't spell TITans without... well... yeah.

The breakdown:

Week 3: 4-4

Week 6 Free NFL Picks (65% YTD)

We've looked long and hard at this week's NFL lines, and there weren't a lot of picks that immediately jumped out. Still, we've crunched the numbers all week and should have some solid plays for our Free NFL Picks, though we're worried at the fact that they've hovered just over .500 since an incredible start. When in doubt, post another pic of this Falcons chick and bet Atlanta.

Also this week, we have picks for both the Sunday and Monday nighters, the first time this year that we've bet both those prime time slots. Here's the six play card:

Falcons +3 over the Eagles

Steelers -14 over the Browns

Chargers -9 over the Rams

Lions +10 over the Giants

Colts -3 1/2 over the Redskins

Titans -3 over the Jaguars

Good luck and enjoy your Sunday! We'll do our best to make you enjoy it just that much more.

Another Winning Week For Our Free NCAA Football Picks

They have not been without their rough patches, that's for sure, but it looks like our Free NCAA Football Picks are finally back. After a solid 5-2 Week 6, our picks hit five of eight this week, giving them a 10-5 mark in the last two after an ugly, ugly stretch. Needless to say, this would have been a good week to use a $50 Risk Free Bet from Bodog.

It was another one of those weeks where, when we were right, we were right. And when we were wrong, we were wrong. That's fine. That's how it goes sometimes. While it's strange that we can be so totally wrong on a pick, it's nice not to have to suffer through a bad beat.

Georgia, Hawaii, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Clemson all took care of business on Saturday, and as such, our record update looks slightly friendlier:

Free NCAA Football Picks
Week 1: 5-4-1
Week 2: 8-4
Week 3: 3-6
Week 4: 4-7
Week 5: 3-6
Week 6: 5-2
Week 7: 5-3
Overall: 34-32-1... 52%

Obviously, still not where we want them to be, but it could be worse. It has been worse.

Our 65% Free NFL Picks will follow this morning, so stay tuned.

Week 7 Free NCAA Football Picks

Is it Week 7 already? Where as the time gone? (Or as some of you have asked the last few weeks, where has our money gone?) As we check out this week's college football odds at Doc's Sports, we can't help but wonder how the season is already halfway through.

After six weeks of college football, our Free NCAA Football Picks have gotten us... absolutely nowhere. We are .500 on the season, which means we are in the same position we were in on Day 1, minus some juice and pride.

But there is hope for our Free NCAA Football Picks, coming off a 5-2 Week 6 to even the record to 29-29-1 on the season.

It may have taken six weeks to get to essentially go full circle, but this week we are planning to leave our .500 days behind us and show what our picks are all about.

With that lengthy intro, here are the Week 7 Free NCAA Football Picks:

Ohio State -4 over Wisconsin

Hawaii +7 over Nevada

Michigan State -7 1/2 over Illinois

Georgia -14 over Vanderbilt

Oklahoma State +3 over Texas Tech

Arkansas +3 1/2 over Auburn

Virginia +7 over North Carolina

Clemson -14 over Maryland

Once again, there may be some additions to this week's card, but not a lot is jumping out at the moment. Really, we're just watching for potential totals that we could end up playing, but we might be over/under free for the week despite our 3-0 totals record on the year.

Stay tuned and good luck!

Stock Lemon's Role in The Bucky Channel Relaunch

For those familiar with this site, you know that we frequently link to and are frequently linked by the fine folks at The Bucky Channel.

It's a curious relationship between our sites as we are both simply trying to provide our readers with more content that we feel they would be interested in reading. The reason we have this kind of relationship with them is because, honestly, they were some of the first people to help us out when we were new to the blogging game, and we did the same for them. And neither of us has forgotten it.

So, as you wipe those sentimental tears away, we're proud to say that we have played a small part in what is becoming The Bucky Channel 2.0. Regular Bucky Channel readers will notice a change in layout, and that change will come with a whole new staff of writers joining the team.

And we are one of them... kind of.

As we have done in the past, we'll be providing content through a semi-regular, semi-forgotten about feature called The Lemmy Channel, in which we look into interesting tidbits relating to their home town teams up in Wisconsin. We'll look at different betting trends as they pertain to the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Bucks and Milwaukee Brewers (and maybe even the Milwaukee Iron of the Arena Football League) to cater to their readership.

We'll post tidbits about our analysis here, with the main content gracing the pages of The Bucky Channel 2.0.

So welcome, Wisconsinites, for those of you who didn't make it over for the first few installments of The Lemmy Channel. Please bring your finest beers and cheeses to Stock Lemon (or donate some cash to us using the Paypal icon on the left, so that we can purchase our own!).

A Profitable Weekend of Football (64%)

We're baaaaaack.

Well, kind of. We finally went another weekend with a winning record in the NFL and college, which mostly just means that our college picks finally came through since our NFL picks have yet to produce a losing record in any week this season.

Even they, though, have been in a bit of a holding pattern as of late, hovering around .500. All told, our weekend of football finished with a 9-5 record (64%), which we'll take. Here's the breakdown:

First, our crown jewel, which we mentioned have been very unimpressive after a hot start. Still more wins than losses, but we just can't seem to get that one extra victory every week. A push in the Green Bay game would have been helpful, but alas, it was not to be. Still, 4-3 is not bad for a bad week.

Free NFL Picks
Week 1: 5-1
Week 2: 6-1
Week 3: 4-4
Week 4: 3-3
Week 5: 4-3
Overall: 22-12... 65%

Our struggling Free NCAA Football Picks are finally back to perfectly mediocre after three straight fade-worthy weeks. A 4-2 Saturday, followed by a Thursday win, gives us hope that they are back on track.

Free NCAA Football Picks
Week 1: 5-4-1
Week 2: 8-4
Week 3: 3-6
Week 4: 4-7
Week 5: 3-6
Week 6: 5-2
Overall: 29-29-1... 50%

Reason for optimism here at Stock Lemon, with a combined football picks record of 51-41-1 (55%). It's not where we wanted to be right now, but we've fought through some rough spots and are looking forward to building on this weekend with more winnings weeks to come. And yes, we've already posted a picture of this Falcons chick. We're sure you won't mind another.

Saturday, October 9, 2010

Week 5 Free NFL Picks (67% YTD)

Our Free NFL Picks started hot and have cooled off the last two weeks, with consecutive .500 outings. We're hoping to get back on track with a week of three-point favorites! Not usually the way to accomplish a winning record, but lots of value in these plays this week.

Falcons -3 over the Browns

Packers -3 over the Redskins

Lions -3 over the Rams

Texans -3 over the Giants

Colts -7 over the Chiefs

Titans +7 over the Cowboys

49ers -3 1/2 over the Eagles

That should be it for tomorrow's action. Again, very favorite heavy and there are some "square" looking plays in the bunch, but we're going to trust our 67% system while we can still say that it's 67%.

Here's the evidence:

Free NFL Picks
Week 1: 5-1
Week 2: 6-1
Week 3: 4-4
Week 4: 3-3
Overall: 18-9... 67%

As a side note, we aren't planning on having a play for Monday's Jets-Vikes game, but we might as well continue to post pictures of Jenn Sterger in light of Brett Favre's penis pictures hitting the web. She seems to have given our college picks a little boost (more on that, hopefully, in a bit), so we'll pull a Favre and try to ride Jenn.

Friday, October 8, 2010

Week 6 Free NCAA Football Picks

We promised a little less volume and a little more over/unders... and we will come through on both promises just a little. With our picks struggling (a little?), we were a little more picky with our sides and a little more trustworthy in our totals, and hopefully the end results are A LOT more profitable. After Thursday's win, we'll have a total of seven plays this week, two less than our lowest week so far.

Georgia Tech -10 over Virginia

Michigan/Michigan State UNDER 65

Alabama -7 1/2 over South Carolina

Wake Forest +3 1/2 over Navy

Florida State/Miami OVER 49

Penn State -8 over Illinois

If posting a picture of Stock Lemon favorite and former Florida State babe Jenn Sterger doesn't get it done amidst all the Brett Favre sexting allegations, we don't know how to bust this slump. The ugly results to date:

Free NCAA Football Picks
Week 1: 5-4-1
Week 2: 8-4
Week 3: 3-6
Week 4: 4-7
Week 5: 3-6
Week 6: 1-0

Sides: 24-27-1... 47%
Totals: 1-0... 100%!!!!!!!

That's Why We Don't Bet Against Farm Girls

Our life-long philosophy proved true again last night, with Nebraska easily covering the -11 spread over Kansas State and giving our Free NCAA Football Picks a 1-0 start to the week.

We should just quit while we're ahead, giving us our first winning week in college football in... well... long enough, but we don't know any better and will have several more picks for tomorrow's action posted a little later tonight.

Stay tuned!

And no, none of the girls that we have featured in pictures have been sent text message pictures of Brett Favre's penis. That we know of.

Chasing Our NCAA Football Pick Losses From Last Week

Okay, so we aren't really chasing last week's losses (or the week before's). We do have a Thursday play tonight that comes up as part of our Free NCAA Football Picks system. It just always feels like we are pressing when we take action on these Thursday or Friday games, because we are so selective with such a large slate on Saturday. But, in the end, this pick should be a winner (says the site with a 47% success rate at, you know, picking college winners). Without further ado:

Nebraska -11 over Kansas State

As much as we don't want to bet against home teams on the weekday games (we have no numbers to indicate anything either way, just kind of a gut feeling), we're sticking with our struggling system on this one. We're simply abiding by our number one rule in life: never bet against farm girls.

Let's dig out of this hole together... or further down it.

Free NFL Picks Have Another Average Week (67% YTD)

After a hot 11-2 start for our Free NFL Picks, they've gone 4-4 and 3-3 in the last two weeks, giving them a 7-7 mark for those of you who chose not to finish the second grade.

Overall, that puts them at 18-9 this season, which while still pretty good, is very disappointing considering the start. We know that these things kind of even out over the course of a season, but we also know that we need to do a better job of differentiating between what qualifies as as system play. Two of our picks in particular, the Colts (-8) and the Bengals (-3) felt very square to us, leading us to think we should bring more of a human element to our picks rather than simply trust our numbers.

Still, all we've lost is a few followers and a little juice in the last two weeks, which isn't bad for what we would call a slump.

Obviously, both our Free NCAA Football Picks and our Free NFL Picks are not where we want them to be after a great start, so we have some work to do this week.

But did we mention we are 100% on Free UFL Picks!?!?!?!?!

The NFL breakdown follows:

Free NFL Picks
Week 1: 5-1
Week 2: 6-1
Week 3: 4-4
Week 4: 3-3
Overall: 18-9... 67%

We Need to Bet on the UFL More Often

In light of our recent struggles in college football, we decided it was time to pull the trigger on a Free UFL Pick on Saturday. And it was just the ego boost we needed.

There's nothing better than a game going down exactly as predicted, which happened when Omaha beat Sacramento but didn't cover the spread +8 point spread, giving us a 1-0 Free UFL Picks record.

After another losing week in college, it's good to have the UFL as a fall back option on Saturdays if needed.

And it's always nice to post pictures of Omaha QB Jeff Garcia's ridiculously hot wife, Carmella Decesare.

And, of course, it's good to have NFL Sundays. This week's Free NFL Picks (71% YTD) can be found here.

Free NCAA Football Picks in Crisis Mode

It's Britney Spears time for our Free NCAA Football Picks.

Time for us to shave our heads and really sort things out. Our Picks endured losing week number three, going 3-6 and three games under .500 for a third straight week.

But why dwell on our obvious recent shortcomings when we have a celebration to get to. What are we celebrating? How about our 100% accurate over/under bets?! In our first total of the year, we were able to hit the over, and are now 1-0 in that department. Forget that pesky 23-27-1 record on our other picks, our total are 1-0!

Alright, alright. That's a bit of a stretch. But definitely expect more totals next week. Today was kind of a test of sorts, and we feel like our totals system is up to par. As for our other plays, the volume may be going down for a week or two as we continue to re-evaluate our numbers.

Free NCAA Football Picks
Week 1: 5-4-1
Week 2: 8-4
Week 3: 3-6
Week 4: 4-7
Week 5: 3-6
Overall: 24-27-1... 47%

Adding the Irish as a Free NCAA Football Pick

Looks like we will have an addition Free NCAA Football Pick after all. Our numbers are strong on Notre Dame, so we're adding them to the list.

Notre Dame -3 over Boston College

And, once again, the rest of our Saturday picks:

Navy +10 over Air Force

Clemson +3 1/2 over Miami

Ohio State -17 over Illinois

Northwestern -6 over Minnesota

Kentucky +3 over Ole Miss

Stanford +7 over Oregon

North Carolina State +3 1/2 over Virginia Tech

Arizona State/Oregon State OVER 56

So nine plays it is. This is the final card, so no need to frantically check for updates unless a) you want to make sure we didn't add any NFL picks or b) you want to donate copious amounts of money to Stock Lemon via the paypal button on the left.

Week 4 Free NFL Picks (71%)

We were hoping our Free NFL Picks would go something like 100-16 on the season, losing just one a week as we had the first two weeks, but Week 3 kind of opened our eyes a bit. We'll take a 4-4 week as a wake up call that, hey, things do get tougher than that. Still, we're pleased with a 15-6 start (72%) to the NFL season and hope to continue that this week:

Giants -3 1/2 over the Bears

Bengals -3 over the Browns

Falcons -7 over the 49ers

Colts -8 over the Jaguars

Redskins +6 over the Eagles

Chargers -9 over the Cardinals

Just six picks for us Sunday, similar to when we had six in Week 1. How did Week 1 go, again? Here's our full recap:

Free NFL Picks
Week 1: 5-1
Week 2: 6-1
Week 3: 4-4
Overall: 15-6... 71%

Week 5 Free NCAA Football Picks

After two less than stellar weeks for our Free NCAA Football Picks, we are looking to get back on track, or at the very least stay afloat, in Week 5.

Our minimum goal, as always, is to stay ahead of gambling's Mendoza line, which is typically seen as 60%. First, though, we need to have another week of over 50%... or 40%. If things don't go well this weekend, we might just join the Navy.

So, to stop our free fall, we're enlisting the following slump busting plays:

Navy +10 over Air Force

Clemson +3 1/2 over Miami

Ohio State -17 over Illinois

Northwestern -6 over Minnesota

Kentucky +3 over Ole Miss

Stanford +7 over Oregon

North Carolina State +3 1/2 over Virginia Tech

And our very first total of the year

Arizona State/Oregon State OVER 56

That gives us a total of 8 plays for the coming Saturday, the fewest amount we have had so far. Now, some of that can be attributed to being a little bit more gun-shy in light of our last two weeks, but mostly it's just a sign of the books getting a little tighter and the lines a little crisper. It's easy enough to start a season strong, and often to finish strong too. But the middle of the season, which is the majority of the plays, are where things are toughest. An eight-play day or less might not be uncommon for a while.

On that note, we still might add tomorrow. Last week, our last minute added plays went 0-3, so in all likelihood that won't be happening. But keep your eyes open (and your pageviews coming. Muahahaha!).

How About a Free UFL Pick?

We aren't shy about our affinity for the UFL, which gives us on more football betting option in the even that our college picks ever have two miserable weeks in a row.

And we'll take that affinity one step further with our first Free UFL Pick of the year.

Sacramento Mountain Lions +8 over the Omaha Nighthawks

Omaha is the better team. Omaha has the best home field advantage in the UFL. Omaha could very well win the league, in fact.

But look, nine of the last 13 UFL games have been decided by a touchdown or less. This is a league that, like the NFL, features great parity, and that's what we expect in Omaha tomorrow night. With Jeff Garcia at the helm for the Nighthawks and Daunte Culpepper for the Mountain Lions, this game features the two crown jewels of the 2010 UFL recruiting class. Two of the better quarterbacks in the NFL in the early 2000's will face off, and it'll be up to the players around them to come out with a win. We think Omaha has those players, and we think they'll win. Just not by eight points.

For the record, our Free UFL Picks are, unfortunately, 0-1 all-time. Time to get back to .500!
